Duke TIP Recognition
Duke TIP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving academically gifted and talented students. Duke TIP works with students, their families, and educators to identify, recognize, challenge, engage, and help students reach their highest potential. Now in its thirty-ninth year, the 7th Grade Talent Search identifies bright seventh graders based on standardized test scores achieved while attending elementary or middle school. Candidates are invited to take
the ACT or the SAT college entrance exams as seventh graders, which allows them greater insight into their academic abilities. In addition, they gain valuable benefits and have access to unique resources for gifted students.
TRMS would like to recognize those students who qualified for state recognition. The honorees have earned an award by scoring approximately at or above the national average of recent high school graduates on at least one part of the ACT or the SAT. These students are invited to a special recognition ceremony held at a university.

Taylor Road MS would like to recognize those students who scored high enough to qualify for grand recognition. Students who qualify for grand recognition scored approximately at or better than 90 percent of recent high school graduates on at least one part of the ACT or the SAT. These students are invited to a special recognition ceremony at Duke University. Only about 4 percent of all the participants in the talent search qualify for grand recognition. This is quite an achievement!

Fulton County Strategic Plan Survey Coming Soon!
Fulton County Schools are committed to supporting our people and culture as an important pillar of our Strategic Plan 2022. At the end of each school year, we ask our families and staff to share their input to understand how we are doing. Your feedback will also help us to identify possible next steps we should take to meet our goals.
Please help us capture your experience by taking this 10-minute survey. Your responses will be reported anonymously. Please be on the lookout for your survey link via email on Monday, April 29, 2019 from FCSS Communications.
The survey will be open from Monday, April 29, 2019 through Friday, May 17, 2019. We thank you in advance for your important feedback.
Yearbooks are still on sale!
Please reserve your 2019 TRMS yearbook at yearbooksonsale.com before all copies are sold! A limited number of yearbooks have been ordered and we will likely sell out this year. All grades will receive their books on Awards Day, Friday, May 17th. For questions, please email Tiffany Dodson at dodson@fultonschools.org.
Travel Opportunity to Spain for Students
I would like to announce you an exciting opportunity for your Spanish student: travel on an educational tour to Spain over spring break of 2020. There will be an informational meeting on Thursday, April 25 in Room 114 at 6:00 to discuss travel itinerary and ways to make the trip affordable. Spanish teacher Sra. Andrés is organizing the trip and she will be accompanied by Mrs. Haak from Hopewell. Mrs. Haak has embarked on several educational trips with students from HMS since 2008 with great feedback from the students and parents. Hope you can make it!
