PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are coming around the bend, and what better way to celebrate the end of the school year than enjoying great performances by our Band, Orchestra, and Chorus. Each spring these talented groups wrap up a year of hard work by treating families with an evening of musical entertainment. Performing arts is an important piece of a child's education and we are fortunate to be able to offer our students these opportunities. Thanks to Mr. Acuna, Ms. Prodan, and Ms. Thomas for an enjoyable year showcasing the talents of so many Lincoln students.
Our athletic department is wrapping up a year of coaching students in Cross Country, Wrestling, Volleyball, Dance Team, Basketball, and now they end with Track and Field. Lincoln is sending several athletes to State this weekend and we wish them the best of luck!
Earlier this week I learned that Megan Imherr (Grade 8 Jaguar) has won the American Legion Essay Award this year. Her paper on the subject of the Congressional Medal of Honor was chosen from among about 100 entries! Megan will participate in the Memorial Day Parade, read her essay aloud at the Mount Prospect band shell after the parade, and then be awarded her certificate and $100 from one of 68 living Medal of Honor recipients. Congratulations to Megan and her family!
Lincoln's Class of 2022 graduates on Thursday! It is amazing to think that this class experienced the repercussions of the global COVID 19 pandemic during each of their middle school years. I hope that you are as proud of yourselves as I am of your entire graduating class. These past three years have been a time for communities to work together for the good of all; for students to persevere through many changes and restrictions; and, finally, a time to realize that with patience, support, and confidence, you will be able to accomplish almost anything! Congratulations and see you Thursday night!
Paul Suminski

Lincoln Social Workers . . .
Erin's Law
Erin's Law is mandated by the State of Illinois and refers to a prevention-oriented child sexual abuse program. We would like to share the resource below from the Erin’s Law website for you as parents to review. Students may check their team's website next week for more information regarding Erin's Law. If you would like to, we also encourage you to have a discussion with your children about this important topic. Both parents and students can contact either of us about this at draftery@d57.org or mmaman@d57.org with any follow up questions!
Be well,
Dan Raftery and Mimi Maman
