Change to lower lot procedures
Please reveiw the map below for lower lot dismissal. Due to our growing number of families, we need to make a slight adjustment. Please be patient as you enter the lot and lineup in the order outlined below. The red line will be the first group of cars, blue line the second group and so on.
The red and blue lines will start lining up on the ramp, continue around the parking lot, and ending at the end of the median. The green, orange, purple, yellow lines will line up like they had in the past. The goal is to release the red line first, blue line second, and yellow line third up the ramp. The green line will follow the yellow line up the ramp while the purple and orange lines release out of the entrance.
1st: Red
2nd: Blue
3rd: Green
4th: Orange
5th: Purple
6th: Yellow

Attendance
Please remember to review the updated attendance policy in the handbook. A parent and/or doctor note is requried for each absence.
An Important Message from Your Sports
The Sports Committee and Your Role in Our School
Why do I have to volunteer if my kid plays sports? I already paid the
registration fee.
New ways of doing things often bring up lots of feedback in any community. The
Sports Committee wants to make sure everyone understands the purpose of the
sports volunteer hours.
The Sports Committee does not get funding from the school in any way to support
your students in sports. It is a small volunteer crew of parents trying to ensure we
have proper working equipment for all sports, and we can give our kids the best
opportunity to try old and new sports at our school.
Registration fees paid per sport cover the fees incurred by the school to sign up
teams for league play, cross country events and more. Registration fees do not
bring in big bucks for the Sport Committee. We use most, if not all, of the fees to
get our kids signed up in the sports they want to play. Registration fees are not
money makers for the Sport Committee fund.
How do we get funds to support all the sports activities?
We fundraise and we hold league events in the gym. Currently, we have a
volleyball league and will be starting a basketball league this year. Both these
leagues bring in door money from attendees of the event and concessions. We
cannot have these leagues if we don’t have volunteers to work the admissions
table and the concession stand. This is where our parents, with kids playing
sports, comes in to play. WE ARE ASKING FOR 2 HOURS TOTAL FOR THE ENTIRE
SCHOOL YEAR. You can work one night at the admission table for 2 hours and
you are done. Love the concession stand and popping popcorn, 2 hours one night
and you are done. These are just a few examples of volunteer opportunities. We
also hold a golf outing and the STAG event to raise funds as well.
Why do we need extra funds? What in the world does the Sports Committee
buy?
Over the last few years, we have invested the sports money in various ways.
We paid to have the gym floor cleaned and rewaxed. It had never been done!
This is a must do to ensure our gym floor stays in good working order for any
sports, but also the PE classes and aftercare use. We also purchased a
maintenance cleaning mop system to ensure we can properly take care of it. In a
few years we will again need to plan to pay for the full cleaning and waxing again.
We purchased brand new basketball uniforms for grades 1-8, boys and girls
teams. The Sports Committee had used the previous uniforms for more than 13
years. It was time, but it was a HUGE expense.
We paid to install safety wall pads in the gym. The pads were donated by a
sponsor the sports committee acquired.
We purchased a pop-up tent for cross country to use during their events, but we
also used it during the golf outing.
We have purchased all the equipment for our newest sport, Archery!
We offer a scholarship at the end of each school year.
We pay for all the equipment needed to line the U4/U6 fields.
This is just a small glimpse of what has been done for our kids.
There are so many things we could do for student athletes and many of those
things will benefit all the students. We are splitting revenue from the volleyball
and basketball leagues with the school. It means all students will benefit!
WE NEED YOU!
There are still things that our student athletes could use, but we need your help!
We need you to volunteer to make these events work. We would like to put
basketball goals outside for recess. We did have them, but they were taken down
during construction of the new section of the building. We want to have a
portable AED machine for cross country, soccer practice on site and U4/U6
games. We need to get one of the score boards fixed in the gym. We could go on
and on.
We appreciate all the support so far and hope everyone will jump in to help make
St Cecilia sports the best around.

Sports Volunteer Opportunities! Work concessions, admission, clean up, scorers table!

2.
Basketball Registration is now open!
Registration is now open to all students in grades 1-8 for St. Cecilia basketball! The season length will vary based on grade level and team placement (most seasons start as late as after Thanksgiving some as early as the beginning of November) but practices will begin in October. Teams will have one scheduled practice a week to go along with one game a week. Most leagues will schedule between 8-10 games and play a season ending tournament.
We are also looking for parent volunteers to coach or assist as well. Please indicate your willingness to do so when registering your child. As a reminder all parent volunteers must be VIRTUS compliant. This is the perfect way to satisfy your parental service hour requirement!
Initial entry fee is $100 per player. Due to several of the leagues we play in deciding to raise the team entry fee and eliminating charging admission IF your child's team will be playing in one of these leagues there will be an additional $25 fee to offset the higher league fee. Based on most leagues charging $3-$5 per game this will actually be less paid out as opposed to paying admission to each game. Teams playing in leagues that charge admission will not be charged the extra fee.
Registration ends Sept. 8th. To register please go to https://leagues.bluesombrero.com/Default.aspx?tabid=689223&isLogin=True and sign into your account. New families will need to sign up for a new account at the same link.
Also as an invitation to our new families as well as a reminder to our existing families there are plenty of opportunities to get involved with our St. Cecilia Sports Committee! We encourage you to come to a meeting and help if you can!
Teams are based on your child's current grade level for the 2023-2024 school year, if for some reason during the registration process they aren't able to register for the correct grade level, please let us know and we'll get it corrected!!
Please contact Josh Whisman at jwhisman912@yahoo.com with any questions.
