Can you help us out?

We need the following items for our Maker Space:

Duct Tape (Duck brand is popular, but any brand will do)

Toilet Paper and Paper Towel Tubes

Straws

Electric Toothbrushes from Dollar Tree

Lids from milk bottles, squeeze fruit, soda, etc.

Battle of the Books

It is time to start Battle of the Books! Anyone (grades 3-5) that wants to participate can pick up a permission note in the library and begin reading the books. More information will be added soon!

Clubs in the Library, Oh MY!

There are several clubs that meet in the library throughout the week. Lego Club meets Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 7:15-7:30. Coding Club meets Monday-Thursday at 7:15-7:35 and at recess. Maker Space meets at 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade recess times.

If you would like to volunteer to help out with our clubs, email Mrs. Pospisil at cpospisil@nisdtx.org.

Maker Space

Maker Space will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays at 3rd-5th grade recess. We have added some new items, including Little Bits! Students that wish to participate need to sign up with their teacher. More details soon...

Read to Your Bunny

If you have a child at home that is not yet a Schluter Spur (Birth-PreK) come spend some time with us on Wednesday morning. We sing, do finger plays, read a story, and eat snacks. Is there a better way to spend the morning? Read to Your Bunny, Wednesdays at 7:45.

Lego Club

Every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday morning at 7:25, students can come to the library to build with Legos. Creations will be on display in the library throughout the week. There will be challenges each week.

If you know anyone that is finished with their Legos and would like to give them a new, loving home, please direct them to Schluter.

Coding Club

So far, we have over 200 members in the Schluter Coding Club! Students come in before school Monday-Thursday, and during recess on Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday to work through the Code.org curriculum. Once students are enrolled in Coding Club, they can access their accounts at home, too!

Emails from the Library...

The library system is now set up to send out automatic emails when students have overdue books. Emails will be sent out every Friday afternoon so that you know if your child has an overdue or lost book. If your child is still reading a book, he or she is welcome to renew the book.
