Seniors: All 27 credits must be finished by the end of May to be qualified to walk at commencement.

SEMESTER END

The end of semester one is January 25th! This means the remainder of the year is going to go fast so lets try to keep up with unit goals!

ENGLISH CLASS (MAAP Stars) - GUEST SPEAKERS

Best Prep, a Minnesota-based nonprofit organization that provides educational programs to students in grades 4-12, coordinated two guest speakers for the MAAP Stars class on December 19th. Bruce Wolfson and Ed VanCampenhout talked about entrepreneurship. They both shared that they started working as teens at jobs such as a dishwasher and pizza maker and later worked for various companies such as Whirlpool and Best Buy. Bruce started his own business in 1995 and sold it in 2018. Ed recently helped his son start his own contracting business. Students asked good questions and both Bruce and Ed said they would love to come back in the future!

On January 5th, Eric Forstrom, who works for Wells Fargo, joined MAAP Stars class to talk about public speaking. Eric shared a lot of advice and shared stories about his own journey as a public speaker. Fun face: He and his wife are graduates of Fridley High School!
