A note from Mrs. Johansen
Here is a link to this morning's Tiger TV At-Home Edition! Enjoy! TTV Monday, May 26. Make sure you watch all the way through to see a special message from the Sanborn Staff. Hats off to the amazingly talented Mrs. Sobieszczyk, our Tiger TV sponsor. She has done an incredible job connecting our staff and families through this very difficult period of time.
As you know, today is the last day of school for students in 1st-6th grade. Report cards will be available through the parent portal on Infinite Campus. If you would like a paper copy of the report card, please email Mrs. Cox. coxd@ccsd15.net
It was great to see everyone who picked up their child's supplies last week. We will be donating all supplies that were left behind to a worthy cause on Monday, June 1st. This includes all items left in the lost and found. If you requested your child's supplies but didn't make it to school, please email me today. We are in the office from 9-3:30 the rest of this week.
For any families who are moving, if you have checked out a Chromebook or hot-spot, please make arrangements to bring these devices back to Sanborn by tomorrow, May 27th. 6th graders who are remaining in D15 may keep their devices through the summer.
We are moving into summer hours starting June 1st. The Sanborn Office will be open from 7:45-4:30. We are closed on Fridays until August. It's always a good idea to call the office or email me prior to dropping by.
As a reminder, we will not be sending out a large envelope mailing again this year. All information will come through Infinite Campus. This includes classroom teacher notifications. So, please make sure you've completed the re-registration process so that you can find out your child's classroom teacher along with everyone else in August.
I am so grateful for all of your kind words and support throughout this school year. Working together, we made it through one of the most challenging school years I've ever seen. I know there is a lot of uncertainty about what the start of the next school year will look like. I wish I had more information to share with you. I can assure you that as soon as we know, we will communicate it and I can guarantee that we will work together to take care of each other.
Until then, please email me or call the school if you need anything. You and your children will be in my thoughts throughout the summer. I wish you all a safe, healthy, and happy summer break.
Fondly,
Erika Johansen

CARE/STAR to Offer Morning Kindergarten Childcare
Starting in the fall, CARE/STAR park district programs will offer morning half-day childcare for interested kindergarten families. Currently, there is only the option for afternoon half-day care.
This additional option will allow students enrolled in both morning and afternoon kindergarten sections to receive a full day of care, allow more families to take advantage of the program and eliminate enrollment stressors placed on schools in the past.
Learn more about the program by visiting this link. Incoming kindergarten families are asked to take a brief survey to share potential interest in the program.
From the Sanborn Health Office
Dear Sanborn Families,
During the past school year, if you have provided medication for your child to be available during the school day, please know that the medication will need to be picked up or it will be discarded. Medication refers to any prescription medication including inhalers and epinephrine diabetes supplies and over-the-counter (non-prescription) medication.
We will notify you when a date is determined to pick up your child’s remaining medication and/or medical supplies along with their belongings.
New forms are required by the district at the start of every school year and are available on our district website here. Please complete these forms and return them to school at the start of the 2020/2021 school year.
Thank you,
Sharon Gilbert, RN, BSN
