Doyle Elementary Weekly Update

January 11-15, 2021

Hi Doyle families. My name is Michelle Williams and I am excited to be your Interim Principal. I will be serving you in this capacity while Principal Lopez comes on board. Some of you may know me as the vice principal of Doyle, but due to distance learning, I have not had the pleasure of meeting all of the Doyle families. I come to you from San Jose, California where I worked as Vice Principal of Esperanza. I was part of a small team of teachers who started Esperanza from the ground up just over six years ago. We managed to bring real change and hope to our school community who was suffering from educational inequities. This experience really helped to shape my views and beliefs around the power of education. Education is my passion, but I do have a personal life outside of work. I have a twenty four year old son who attends San Diego State University. I enjoy surfing, cycling and sailing. I have sailed most of the west coast of California and Mexico. Last year, I rode my bike from San Francisco to San Diego over the course of five days. Most weekends you can find me surfing at some of my favorite beach breaks or spending time sailing around the bay. If you see me on campus, please stop and say hi. I love meeting all of the Doyle families.
