#CelebrateMonday
April 2, 2018
I thought to start April it would be fun to have TWO hashtags today! Not only are we going to #CelebrateMonday but we are also focused on #Monslay today!
Are you ready to tackle this day head on?!?
But it's so incredibly important for us to remember our why - why we are here and why we are doing the work we are doing.
This morning on Twitter I saw this tweet from Julie Woodard "Please don’t count down the days until summer; please, instead, make the days count. {how would you feel inside if people were counting down the days until they were no longer with you daily?}"
Every single moment we have with our students matters.
They deserve to come into our schools and classrooms and feel as though we WANT to be there with them. Seeing a countdown on the board - a countdown to the day they no longer enter our doors - may feel like something to be celebrated but can often feel very different to our students.
As we move through this final quarter of the school year, let's be sure to let our light shine (we may need to dig deep some days to find it - but it's worth it!)
To #CelebrateMonday today and all week long - let's celebrate all of the ways we can finish strong and let's celebrate the light we see in others (sometimes we need that extra encouragement!).
Instead of counting down, let's focus on lifting up - our students, our staff, our colleagues each day as we continue toward summer!
Let your light shine - and that WILL make this the best Monday of the week!
Cheers!
