Nurse Kim's Corner
The school year is flying by, and we are already in the midst of the holiday season. The time away from school work can be a great time to double check your student’s immunization records and make sure they are up to date on immunizations. Bring or fax any updated documentation to the school office. The school’s fax number is (541) 526-6441.
If you received a letter about immunizations in your report card it means that you are missing at least one vaccination that is required by the state of Oregon for school participation. Please make sure to update those missing immunizations. It is especially important this year when other illnesses like Pertussis can mimic the symptoms of Covid. A Tdap booster is required for all 7th graders in Oregon and it includes protection from Pertussis.
Feel free to contact me at (541) 977-6930 if you have any questions about immunizations or the process for obtaining a medical or non-medical exemption to the immunization requirements. Have a wonderful and safe holiday break. Remember to limit the size of your gatherings and to maintain your six-foot space bubble from others. Keep on wearing your mask and washing your hands to keep yourselves and your loved ones safe and sound.
