A Message from our Principal...
Birmingham Families,
Thank you so much for joining us at our first Spring Creek BBQ spirit night!! We had an AWESOME time visiting with our Birmingham families....and serving those yummy rolls!!!
Congratulations to our Teacher of the Year, Miss Aubrey Goodman, and our Paraprofessional of the Year, Mrs.Tammie Hogue! We are so PROUD of these ladies and all that they do for our Bears each day!!!
Still need a Pre-Check Badge?
Please stop by and see the ladies in the front office. They are more than happy to help you! Due to the large number of visitors on parties days, wait time on these days for the Pre-Check badge will be lengthy. Please stop by before party day. Thank you!!
Birmingham Elementary--CARE workshop
We are excited to have the CARE workshop available to students during their CAMP time (times listed below) on Wednesday, February 27th. We need a lot of help to make sure it runs smoothly so the students can visit as many stations as possible. They will experience what life is like for people with different disabilities (vision impairment, dyslexia, asthma, gross motor impairment...) while participating in various activities. This is a great way to help them develop a sense of understanding and empathy. Thank you for the help!

A Message from our Assistant Principal.......
Thank you to all of our families who came out to our Spring Creek BBQ spirit night. We had 48 students join us for yummy food. The three winning homerooms are: Mrs. Radkowski, Mrs. Davis, and Ms. Carter. These classes will be receiving a cup, pen, gift card, and Spring Creek BBQ shirt. Any time these students wear this shirt to Spring Creek, they will get FREE ice cream! Be on the lookout for our next spirit night coming in March.
I also wanted to remind everyone to drive safely in the pick-up and drop off lanes. We want to make sure that all of our BEARs make it to school safely. Thank you for keeping Birmingham safe.
Have a great weekend!
BEARy best wishes...

A Message from Nurse Abby.....
Happy Friday Bears!
Parents, it’s not too late to get your family a flu shot. Flu season is underway, which means you can still protect yourself. The CDC states the flu season can last until May. Most walk-in clinics (18 months and older) and pharmacies (adults 18yrs and older) in Wylie still have flu shots, but call to confirm before going.
Please remember to follow our WISD policy for sick students. By keeping your child home, you are reducing the spread of germs that potentially cause illness. A student must be fever (100.0 or above), vomit and diarrhea free for 24 hours without the use of suppressing medications before returning to school.
Please remember to send a refillable water bottle to school with your child. Have a great weekend!
Stay Healthy,
Nurse Abby

Happy Friday Bears!
Thank you for all the Valentine donations! I loved seeing the kids' faces light up as they got to pick out their own Valentine cards! Thanks for spreading your BEAR love!
February Guidance
Kinder- Kinders will learn that how we treat others not only affects our friendships, but how it affects us as well. We used the book The Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carle to talk about what we can do to turn our grouchy feelings into happy feelings.
1st- First graders will travel to different colleges with Flat Stanley and get to see inside dorm rooms, libraries, and classrooms from several Texas colleges! They are always excited to see that college students ride their bikes to school and bring backpacks!
2nd- In second grade we will be discussing how to have a positive attitude even when things go wrong. We will listen to the story Pete The Cat: I Love My School Shoes and complete a group activity. Pete helps us remember that when things go wrong, finding the good in a bad situation helps us brighten our day. As Pete says when things go wrong, "It's All Good!"
3rd- As a whole class, we will use the website www.campustours.com to explore different college campuses. This gives students a better understanding of what different college campuses look like and how they are similar to and different from Birmingham. This is a great website to explore with your kids at home!
4th- Mrs. Talbert's and Ms. Foster's classes will complete their career research using the websites www.mynextmove.org and www.texasgearup.com to explore careers that interest them. These websites provide information on what each career does, salaries, education needs, and some even provide on the job videos.
The other 4th grade pod is ready to move on to our college research! Now that we have explored and researched our careers of interest, the students will now get to research colleges of their choice using www.campustours.com as well as the college websites. Once classes finish with their college and career research, the information that they have found will be sent home for families to discuss at home.
Safety Patrol
Please make sure you are here for your scheduled time. If it is below 40 degrees or bad weather, you are to open the school doors for students to welcome them in. If you are unable to do Safety Patrol, please let me know. It is okay if it is not working out, but we just need to know. The next group is:
February 11-March 1- Safety Patrol (Blue Group)
March 4- March 29 (Green Group)
Upcoming Wylie Way Dates:
Wednesday, February 27- Wylie Way Day Follow Up- Students and teachers will revisit the lessons learned on our big Wylie Way day.
Have a fabulous weekend!!
Bear Love,
Mrs. Ray
