FAREWELL, BOBBIE DEENEY

Big picture

As one chapter in my life closes, another is about to open. I want to thank everyone at PCHS, and the PCR#3 School District for their friendship, support, and assistance. The past 5 1/2 years have been very memorable and eventful. I feel very good and extremely proud of what we have accomplished for the students, the parents and each other. You have an unbelievable responsibility to the community... I wish you all success in achieving the vision, the mission, and the long-range goals!

I will miss you...

Our Collective Commitment Corner

This past week we continued to grow our instructional coaching capacity with educator, coach, and renowned author, Diane Sweeney! In finding myself embracing those nuggets of wisdom from the wealth of professionalism and talent both here and immersed in with the 80+ educators in our group, I’d like to share a few with you as well. Enjoy!

  • A quiet class isn’t necessarily a learning class.

  • Ecosystems of learning thrive in cultures of trust.

  • What we want for our children...we should want for their teachers; that schools be places of learning for both of them, and that such learning can be suffused with excitement, engagement, passion, challenge, creativity, and joy. ~ Andy Hargreaves

I am so very much looking forward to our continued commitment with cross-curricular teams on Tuesday and Thursday! We’ll need to bring nothing other than something with which to write this time around, and we should be thinking, too, of facilitators as we move into our mid-October work. Have a wonderful weekend!

Pirate Presence

THANK YOU so much for all the staff who have committed to connecting with our students who are experiencing an attendance rate that is below 90%. We had several staff sign up to serve our students in this capacity. Your commitment is benefiting our students. Thank you for living out our Principles of Learning and your WHY for serving at PCHS!

Next, each week is a new week to sign up to connect and build positive relationships with our students. If you did not get the chance to sign up, please do so this week. You can sign up utilizing the link below:

Donate Old Toys to LMC for TeenTober - Frankentoy Fest!

October is TeenTober month in the library world and, to celebrate the month, we are planning some programming and activities for our students. Our culminating celebration will be a Frankentoy Fest on October 31st. There will be first, second and third place winners recognized for the creativity of their "re-designed and re-engineered" toys.

If you would be willing to donate toys or toy parts to the cause, please bring in your stash to the library office these first couple of weeks of October. That will give students who want to participate time to assemble their mutant creations for the festival. It probably goes without saying but...just in case...you will not be getting any of these toys back. If you have any further questions or need any clarifications about this project, please feel free to contact any of us in the library.
