Dismissal Procedures
If you are a classroom teacher and have students in your classroom during 8th period:
- You will enforce a level 0 voice level in order to properly hear announcements and modes of transportation being called.
- No electronic devices are allowed to be used by the students until they are in the gym (after all zones are called)
- You will enforce a “no movement” period until all zones are called. Students should remain seated and inside the classroom. 10/10 rule is in effect.
- You will use the attached form to ensure only the students whose mode of transportation has been called are released. Please make copies to use weekly. This is an expectation, not a suggestion.
- If a student is changing their mode of transportation, they will need to bring a note and turn it in to the front office. Front office staff will contact 8th period teacher to let him/her know of the changes.
- No changes will be allowed without a note. If you have issues with students not telling you the truth about their mode of transportation, please verify and confirm with parent/guardian.
- Once the student(s) is called, mark them off the list for your records.
- Once “ALL ZONES” are called please escort your students quietly to the gym. Please make sure you walk with your students and keep them quiet as we may announce another bus while zones are in route to the gym.
- BAND and ORCHESTA students – These students will get their instruments on the way to their 8th period. That means, right after they leave their 7th period class, they go get their instrument and go to 8th period. This will be the only time they will be allowed to get their instrument.
Dismissal Schedule
- 4:00 – 4:04 ASP (and Reach for the STAARs on Tues and Thurs) and 1st round of buses
- 4:05 – 4:08 Walkers, car riders – ILT funnels students out of the building and keeps them from coming back inside.
- 4:09 Second round of buses
- Approx. 4:15 Zones will be dismissed over the PA – athletes should come to the gym with zones. No athletes should be in the hallways.
Shout Outs!!

Shout out to Mrs. Peters for taking the GT students on an awesome field trip where they were able to practice and sharpen their communication and teamwork skills. Both groups were successful in landing on the moon and on Mars. Check out our Twitter feed for pictures and tweets from the students' perspectives.

Content Feature - ESL
Students in beginner classes are starting their research projects that they will present in May. Students are working in groups to research their home countries. Some of the information they are researching includes geography, food, currency, and holidays. After researching, students will present their information to classmates and staff members. This project is always memorable for our beginner students.
