Our Library Media Center!

Welcome back to a new school year! I have been so excited to see all of the classes coming in to visit our school's brand new media center. Here are a few reminders about the media center and the changes that have happened this school year.

Student Information:

Students will visit the library with their classes on a weekly basis. They may also come to the library as needed with permission from the teacher and the library pass to check out new books.

Students may check out 2 books at a time. Exceptions may be made for students who are working on a research project.

Students will be encouraged to read a variety of books. They will be given the opportunity to checkout books from a variety of genres and topics.

Students will be exposed to various types of books through book talks, book trailers, and conferences.

Students will participate in a semester long reading challenge to encourage them to set new goals for their reading. More information will be coming soon!!

Teacher Information:

Teachers may check out as many books as needed for their classroom. Please see Ms. Hall if you are looking for specific books and cannot find them.

Teachers will have a dedicated library time each week that they can utilize to bring their students to the library for checkout, lessons, and story time.

Ms. Hall is here to collaborate with you and assist you with lessons in the library. Let me know if I can help you with integrating technology, resources, or research skills.

If there are resources that you would like to suggest be added to the collection, please let Ms. Hall know.

Each teacher will receive 2 laminated Media Center passes that they may use to send students to the library throughout the day.
