Clothing Exhibit Entry Day is Friday, July 27, 2018

4-H Clothing Exhibit Entry Information:

Based on pre-fair entries, each clothing exhibitor was sent a letter with clothing exhibit entry information. Times slots were assigned for exhibit entry, interview judging, and style review modeling. Entry Day begins at 8:30 AM. The Public Style Review and Bed Turning will be at 7:00 PM that evening. Contact the Extension Office if you did not receive a letter and with any questions, 402-362-5508.

4-H Family Meal

Wednesday, Aug. 1st, 6-8pm

York County Fair 4-H Building

Your family is invited to a 4-H meal on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the 4-H Building. Families can sit down and eat or grab and go. This is exclusively for 4-H families.

Fair Entry Cards Ready for Pick Up

4-H Exhibit Entry Tags are printed and available for pick up at the Extension Office. This will allow exhibitors to tag their items prior to bringing them to fair, which will make the check-in process much more efficient. Stall cards and back tags for large livestock exhibitors are also available for pick up at any time.

4-H Foodstand Free Item Ticket

York County 4-H Council wants to show their appreciation for your commitment to 4-H. Each 4-Her will receive one free item of $2.00 or less from the 4-H Foodstand at the fair. Each 4-Her must pick up their free item ticket from the Extension Office and present it to the cashier at the 4-H Foodstand during fair week. This ticket cannot be used towards credit for larger items and no cash back will be given.

Home Ec Building Hosts

Home Ec Building Hosts are needed. Please sign up for two-hour shifts during the fair at the Extension Office or at the County Fair Entry Days on July 27th, 31st, and Aug. 1. Volunteers are needed from 12:00 noon til 10:00 p.m. each day Thursday thru Saturday and on Sunday from 12:00 noon til 4:00. Hosts will guard against theft, prevent smoking, and not allow food and drink in the building. You are also welcome to call the Extension Office to sign up as well. 402-362-5508

County Fair Cut-Outs - 4 LEFT!

The "For Ever Fun" theme cut-outs for decor at the fair are ready for pick up. WE HAVE FOUR LEFT!!!! 4-H clubs and 4-Her's, we need your help!!! Please help decorate our fair with this year's emoji theme.

Camper Spots Available July 31

County Fair camper spots will be available Tuesday, July 31 at the earliest. Please call or text Grant Jackson with questions. 402-890-2220.

Pie Donation Expected

4-H Family Pie Donation

Each 4-H Family is asked to furnish at least one pie (two pies would be even better) for the 4-H Food Stand during the fair. Please plan to furnish pies according to the following schedule. Bring Pies to the 4-H Food Stand by Last Name:


  • Wed. 8/1 or Thurs. 8/2: A - G
  • Fri. 8/3: H - P
  • Sat. 8/4: Q - Z

INTERVIEW TIMES for Static Exhibits

Static Exhibit Interviewing Judging is OPTIONAL! If a 4-H’er chooses to interview judge, there will be a limit of 2 interview items per project area each day. Interview times will only be available from 8:30 a.m. to Noon each day. If you would like your exhibits interviewed, stop at the Extension Office to make appointments. If you do not sign up for an appointment, we will assume that you are choosing not to interview.

State Fair Discount Ticket Order DATE CHANGE

Discounted tickets for the Nebraska State Fair can be purchased through the York County Extension Office for $5.00. Orders must be in and paid for by Friday, August 3. Please note that gate admission at State Fair for Children 6-12 will be $3.00 every day and children 5 and under are free.

4-H Foodstand Sign Up - Avoid getting a phone call!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!! The 4-H Foodstand is a major fundraiser for the York County 4-H Program. The money raised will go directly to York County 4-H'ers through scholarships, workshop, and other learning experiences. It is expected that at least one person from every family work at least one shift. Please sign up NOW!!!!! Or you'll be getting a phone call.
