XCS Systemization and Middle School Consolidation Update
Dear Parishioners, School Families, and Community supporters,
This communication is being shared as an update to the important work of our schools and parishes as it relates to the Cedar Rapids metro task force recommendation of systemization and the Middle School exploratory study committee recommendation of consolidation. This serves as a follow up to the message dated October 25.
The pastors had their first meeting on Thursday, November 2nd. The discussion was rich and exhibited a collaborative spirit and goodwill. The pastors will meet again in late November to continue the discussion and progress. No more information can be shared at this time.
At the point a decision has been made, this will be shared with the greater Cedar Rapids Catholic community in a similar format to this communication. Until then, we ask for continued prayers for this process and the important work of our pastors for the greater Catholic community.
Sincerely,
Cedar Rapids Metro Task Force Leadership Team

Please note - donations can absolutely be those that are no longer used in your home.
Our November 10th LCS $1 free dress day will be on Friday, November 10 supporting Central Furniture Rescue. For $1 or more, students and staff may be out of dress code.

Let's Pray Together for Our School!
Did you know that LaSalle parents, grandparents, and community members have a years-long tradition of praying the Rosary for the intentions of our school community?
After a brief pause, this tradition is beginning again, and we'd love for YOU to join us! Whether it is your first time saying the Rosary prayer or you are in a regular habit of praying the rosary, you are welcome!

Concessions Help Needed for the Parent Association
As you might have heard, Taft had to close their gym for use by all their sports teams for what looks like this year. As a result, we have the opportunity to open our concession stand during the Taft basketball home games hosted at LaSalle. The concession stand is a big money maker for the Parent Association and we are in need of two volunteers per game. Please click the link below for the boys games and stay tuned for girls basketball and wrestling as well. Thank you!

LASALLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEWS
School Parties and Invitations
As stated in the 2023-24 Parent/Guardian-Student Handbook on pg. 10, Parties that consume valuable school time are discouraged. After school parties are the responsibility of parents/guardians. Invitations to after school parties should only be passed at school if all members of the class are invited.
A school directory was emailed to all families via Mr. Zeckser in September. Please use this helpful tool when planning your child's party and extending invitations to their friends. The school directory can also be accessed through our school website: www.lasallecatholiccr.org.
Thank you.
Sacramental Records
Please remember that along with needing copies of health forms, etc. (including birth certificates) for our student files, we also need copies of the following sacramental documents as well:
1. Baptismal certificate
2. 1st Eucharist certificate (for students in 2nd - 4th grades). Students typically make their 1st Eucharist in the Spring of their 2nd grade year.
Please either bring a copy of these document(s) in to the office or email them to: kireland@lasallecatholiccr.org. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Thank You!
