Weekly Recap
Hopefully this message finds you in good spirits. Happy Spring Break, Lake Ridge Family! Our 4th and 5th graders came ready to tackle some of their Benchmark assessments this week, and all Pk-5 scholars were ready for the challenges that came their way. Our Lady Longhorns finalized their season, and we had an awesome Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A. Thanks a bunch to all who came out to support the event. The week culminated with Club Friday, and our celebration of “Spring Break Eve”.
Thank you for the support that you offer our campus and the positive and constructive feedback that you provide us continuously. Our motto is "The Race for Excellence has No Finish Line" for a reason. If you have a concern, we want to know. Our goal is to improve daily so that we are providing exactly what our scholars need. We care about them holistically, and we hope that is evident.
Over this next week, you may discover that your child has a packet of various activities. Do not think of this as something punitive or meant to occupy their entire Spring Break. Muscles need exercise, so we want them to exercise one of their most important muscles, and that is the brain. Set aside 30 minutes each day for this exercise. Teach them to use a timer/alarm. Don't forget that we encourage them to read EVERY evening/night for 15-20 minutes, and I challenge you to read WITH them.
I hope that ALL of the Lake Ridge Family, faculty included, will use this week to relax, reflect, and rejuvenate. Those who give 100% are greatly appreciated, and since we cannot pour from an empty cup, we have to fill it back up some way. Here’s to the “cup” being replenished.
When wondering about key dates, be sure to review The Lake Ridge Bridge and the calendar located on the campus's website. As events are scheduled, dates are updated so that you can have a place to reference.
Read the information located on below in the newsletter to view scenes from the week and learn about campus/district happenings, important reminders, news from APD and PTA, and upcoming events. Always remember that "The Race for Excellence has No Finish Line."
Question for You to Pose to Your Child: How can you “exercise your mind” while still having fun this Spring Break?
