T.O.C. ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Every year the Athlete of the Year campaign, powered by Huntsville Hospital Sports Center,
TOC Sports and D1 Sports, looks for high school senior student athletes who excel
on the field, in the classroom and in our community.
From August to April, a panel of judges selects one Athlete of the Week. Applicants must be a high school senior, have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and display a history of athletic and academic accomplishments, as well as community/civic involvement.
At the end of the school year, all weekly winners are invited to a banquet held in their honor.
Two students are selected as Athletes of the Year and will each receive a $1,000 scholarship.

There are no tryouts and you don’t need experience - we’ll teach you all the skills you need to ride. We teach parent riders too! Our practice season starts October 15th. We train locally, with some out of town practices. Race season begins in late February, with 6 races throughout Alabama. If you don’t want to compete in races, you are welcome to just come out to ride and learn with us. You can sign up at any time or request more information via email at RideBuckhornMTB@gmail.com, or talk to a team member – just look for the Buckhorn MTB shirts around school.

Don't want to take your final exam? Don't miss school! Students are now given the opportunity to exempt their final exam in each of their classes. However, their grades AND their attendance will be the deciding factor. Students should think ahead and plan for the end of the semester - don't miss days you don't have to.
- A student who earns exemption status has the option to take the comprehensive final examination to raise the final grade average for the course.
- The comprehensive final examination grade will count 20% of the student's final grade.
- Absences due to approved school activities will not count against course attendance.

Sign Up to Round Up!
The Round Up Program was started by The Schools Foundation and Huntsville Utilities to support local public school systems. The Schools Foundation is a funding partner of Madison County Schools. The more residential and commercial locations that round up, the more funding we can receive. Estimates show that if just half of the residential Huntsville Utilities users rounded up, it would generate approximately $500,000 to support our schools! By rounding up your utility bill to the nearest dollar each month, you help invest in the future of our students!
You can easily sign up to round up online:
http://www.hsvutil.org/myhsvu…/checkbill/roundup/signup.html
It might be a penny, it might be 25 cents, it might be 99 cents, but it will be no more than $11.88 a year. It takes less than 1 minute to fill out.
Thank you for supporting one of our community partners! Go Bucks!
