Lead Us to Heaven
We are blessed by the many saints who inspire us and place the goal of heaven before our eyes, and the saint feast days last week and this coming week are full of great examples for us. The Catholic Church last week celebrated St. Vincent de Paul; most of us know his name because of the parish-based Society of St. Vincent de Paul charity groups, but one of St. Vincent's most lasting contributions is in the education and training of priests. We celebrated the Archangels, an important feast day in our Archdiocese, where the St. Michael the Archangel prayer is prayed so fervently on a daily basis. Friday was the feast of St. Jerome, who translated the Bible into Latin and wrote a comprehensive commentary on the Scriptures. October 1 was the feast of St. Therese of the Child Jesus, whom we also know as St. Therese of Lisieux, whose short life of 24 years left the legacy of her "Little Way" of complete trust in God. October 2 is the feast day of our Guardian Angels, who watch over us every day. This week we also celebrate St. Francis of Assisi, one of the best known and best loved of all saints. Let us never forget the richness of our heavenly advocates, who not only show us how to live in God's will but pray for us every day.
The Power and the Beauty of the Rosary
As a child and young man, I learned how to pray the rosary and prayed the rosary in school. In my family, we prayed together before meals and at Sunday Mass, and we joined in other Catholic devotions. But the rosary was not a big part of our prayer life. It was not until I met my wife that I discovered the beauty of the rosary and of novenas. Tina had grown up praying the rosary, joining in the weekly novena at the parish, and witnessing the many devotions of her grandparents. Tina and I prayed together when we were dating, and we made attending Mass together and joining in prayer at novenas at our parish a priority. Now, I pray the rosary every day, for my wife and our children, for my friends, and now for St. Ignatius of Antioch Elementary School. Please join with me, especially in this month of the Rosary, to pray for our school, for our students, for our school parents, and for our faculty and staff.

For car drop off, please stay in the drop off line and do not drive around the car in front of you. Wait until the car in front of you pulls forward before you pull forward.
For car pick up, please wait until the school staff member gives the signal for your line of cars to pull out and drive out of the parking lot before starting to drive away.
For Pre-K drop off and pick up, please follow the procedures, leaving the lanes with cones at the ends empty for parents to drive out once they have walked their Pre-K students to the Pre-K building. Please take extra care as you are driving, parking, and leaving after Pre-K drop off and pick up.

Parish Women's Bible Study - Walking with Purpose
WALKING WITH PURPOSE REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!
Walking With Purpose is a national women’s Catholic Bible study program. Participants at the St. Ignatius of Antioch chapter are women of all ages and faith backgrounds , seeking to grow in faith. Our first session is on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. The course this year includes two bible studies:
Ordering Your Priorities lays a foundation that helps women focus on the things that matter most. Diving into the pages of Scripture, we’ll connect our modern-day challenges with the changeless truths of our faith.
Reclaiming Friendship explores God's plan for friendship, and what it means to be created in His image. This study helps us to understand what it is to have lasting and abiding friendships.
WWP meets at St. Ignatius on:
Tuesday mornings from 9:30-11:15am in the church auditorium
OR
Tuesday evenings from 6:45-8:30pm in the Antioch Center.
No Bible study experience is needed.
If you can't attend every week, come when you can. If you can’t prepare for each week’s study, come anyway and join the discussion.
