- Met with 9th graders in G block rotation classes to introduce ourselves and the differences between high school and middle school
- Met with 12th graders in their senior project classes to discuss post-secondary planning and completing those college applications
- Administered the PSAT for the 11th grade and 10th graders who opted in

Homework Club takes places Mondays through Thursdays from 2:15-3:15 in C201, Ms. Gerondeau's room
National Honor Society (NHS) students are also available on Wednesdays at 2:15 in room B214, Ms. LeBlanc's room. Stop by and get some help with your homework - all subjects are welcome!
AP Fees Due This Friday
For all students enrolled in an AP class this year..
- You must take the AP exam in the spring (May)
- You must pay for the exam (College Board charges: $96/exam, $15 for students eligible for free or reduced lunch/exam)
- Can be paid in cash, check, or money order made out to Maynard High School
- Exam fees are due to the main office by Friday November 5th
- If it will be a problem to meet this deadline, please speak to your school counselor
Financial Aid Information
Understanding the FAFSA - This webinar provides a detailed overview of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the main application for college financial aid. You'll learn step-by-step instructions on completing the application, helpful tips on answering questions correctly, and important next step. Webinar slides are also available.
FAFSA Days - FAFSA Day is a non-profit, volunteer driven program providing free assistance to students and families seeking to complete the FAFSA. The November FAFSA day will be Sunday Nov. 14th from 2-4pm
College Financing Webinar - This webinar will provide information and clarity on the entire college financial aid application process. You'll learn about financial aid applications and types of financial aid, the factors that determine your aid eligibility, how colleges determine the amount of aid to offer, and the details of financial aid offers. Offered Nov. 3 from 12-1 and multiple times throughout the month
What to Know About the CSS Profile - This webinar introduces the nuts and bolts of the CSS Profile, a financial aid application required by roughly 300 colleges, universities, and scholarship agencies across the country. Topics include tips on completing the Profile, specific financial and household data collected, and how colleges and universities use the application information. Webinar slides are also available.

Class of 2022 Brag Sheet - This will be used for your counselor letter of recommendation, please be sure to be as detailed as possible! We will need this filled out in order to write your letter
Class of 2022 Parent/Guardian Brag Sheet - A brag sheet for parents and guardians in case there is anything you want to be included or for us to know when writing the counselor letter of recommendation
Transcript Release Form - This form will be used to request to have transcripts sent to colleges. The release must be signed for us to legally submit a student's transcript to a school. If under 18, a digital parent signature is also required
College Fairs
- Registration for students is REQUIRED for Virtual Fairs, but FREE! Please register here. On event day, students will log into the same site. In addition to the listed event dates, the booths will remain open for use through November 30th.
- If you already registered for an in-person fair, please log into your account at https://neacac.swoogo.com/Registration and click on the red “modify” link to add the Virtual Fair to your registration. No need to start a new profile!
The Massachusetts State Universities are hosting a virtual college fair on Thursday, Nov. 18
- The virtual college booths will run from 7-8:30pm
- The state university director college panel will run from 7-7:30pm
- A link will be sent out soon!
Food Pantry
If a student is hungry during the school day they may go to the nurse's office to request a snack. The Food Pantry is for food to be brought home to eat, not in school snacking.
Food choices will be in four main categories of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack. Typical food choices are: Hot and Cold Cereal, Soups & canned pasta meals, Mac & Cheese, Canned tuna, Canned fruit, Snack bars, Ramen noodles, Rice, Spaghetti, and personal care items
If you feel this program will benefit your high school student(s) please sign up in one of the following ways.
● Contact a school counselor, the school nurse, or Principal Caruso and fill out this form
● One of the counselors will contact your child after hearing from you or seeing the completed form
