STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Mosetti Enterprises
Mrs. Mosetti's Algebra class is currently working for Mosetti Enterprises. Their latest client, Tesla, is seeking mechanical engineers to help with the beginning stages of their new electric car. The goal is to analyze the relationship between the incline of a road and the stopping distance of a car. After "hours" of data collection, these engineers are going to trust their math and hopefully protect innocent animals from getting hit! (Disclaimer: no real animals were harmed during this activity!) We are all looking forward to testing day!

Book Blind Date
Miss Auble’s 7th grade ELA class held a “Book Blind Date” today for Valentine’s Day.
Each student picked a wrapped book from the shelf and was given a notecard. The only thing students were told was the genre of the book. After making their selections, they unwrapped their book and made their judgements.
While students evaluated the covers and read a few pages from their selection, Miss Auble played love songs from Taylor Swift and other pop artists. Students then answered the questions: Was it love at first sight? And what was the most memorable thing about their book? They also rated the book and stated if they would read it again. Miss Auble was happy to report they made at least five new book connections! Students now plan to read these new books during independent reading.
Peanut Butter Jelly Coding
In Coding 1 with Mr. Lee, students were learning and experiencing the link between writing instructions and how a computer thinks literally which can be a tricky concept to understand. Students had to write instructions on how to make a classic peanut butter (replaced with marshmallow fluff in case of allergies) and jelly sandwich and then watch helplessly as Mr. Lee actually followed their instruction to the letter. Highlights include: taking 2 literal small pieces of bread instead of 2 slices of bread, spreading jelly all over one slice of bread instead of only on the face, and scooping the jelly out with fingers rather than a knife because the instructions never mentioned using a knife.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate!
On Tuesday, February 14th, the EHT Eagles faced off against the Matawan Aberdeen Middle School in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. They played in the crews format, where teams of 3 battle one-on-one between schools, organized by Garden State Esports, which hosts schools from ALL across New Jersey.
The EHT Eagles handily beat the Matawan Aberdeen team in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, with Champions Team Leader Beefy (Bryan Daniel-Perez) single-handedly dominating an entire round and Second Seat Liam Varela finishing out the rest of their team. Third Seat Lemonade Addisalem Dinku kept his mean Incineroar game on reserve just in case. The win brings the Eagles to 2-1 placing them in 2nd place in the South and locking up a playoff spot. They will be in action again next Wednesday at 315 against Tabernacle Middle School with a chance to lock up a top 4 seed in the upcoming playoffs.
On the Contenders league side, First Seat SnS (Jaz Steed) easily dominated Nazareth Area Middle school with an oppressive K. Rool and Second seat Tyle (Tyler Dang) sealing the deal with his speedy Inkling.
Special thanks again to Mr. Chini for donating a large screen display to help our students train and compete.
Huge thanks to Mr. Lee who has been offering his coaching expertise to our smash team!
