Now (what has happened this week)

Welcome to our weekly newsletter!

Hello from all of us at Balladen School.

We have, as always, had a great week at Balladen School. There has been so many smiling faces and so much learning taking place!

Thank you to all of you for supporting us in ensuring our uniform policy is followed throughout the school. I have seen some new shoes around school this week as well. We appreciate the time and effort you have put into this. Thank you.

On Monday we had a community assembly led by David. He told us the story of passover which the children really enjoyed. Our full Governing Board met on Monday after school. These meeting are always very enjoyable and useful. Our governors do spend a lot of their free time supporting the school. Thank you to them!

On Tuesday Kids Rock came in again to work with our Reception children. After school some of our Key stage 1 children had the joy of Zumba after school club!

On Wednesday we were very lucky because Tom Hamer came to speak to all of us at Balladen. Tom is a swimming silver medallist from the 2014 Commonwealth games and attended Alder Grange School. The children were enthralled by his stories and we hope to invite him back to Balladen soon.

On Thursday the sun was shining and some of the classes took the opportunity to go outside and enjoy our wonderful school grounds. Year 1 and 2 were looking at some of the frog spawn from our pond. Year 1 have also been growing peas and these are doing really well! Some of our girls also took part in a cheer leading competition at Alder Grange school. We will have more information about this later.

On Friday we had our celebration assembly. We love these assemblies as parents and carers attend and it allows the children, and us, to show off some learning! Mr Grime and Mrs Winstanley also took some children to St. Batholemews in the afternoon.

Thank you all for your continues support and we look forward to seeing the children and yourselves on Monday!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Mr. Neil Ringrose

Please be careful when driving and parking around school!

Please be very careful when you are driving and parking around the school. I have had a number of parents mentioned to me that their child has been involved in a near miss with a car. This has happened more in the morning than after school.

Please ensure the safety of all of the children at school by being extra careful around school when driving and parking.

Thank you for your support and consideration.
