Attention 3rd Graders
Ms. Chandler is happy to announce an opportunity to help Braeburn Elementary in Houston, Texas while having some fun in the process. All third graders are invited to play dodgeball before school, for a monetary donation. The fourth graders raised $410 with their kickball tournament in December. Let's see if 3rd grade can beat them! Just show up at door 10 (gym door) at 8:00 am. Since you don't play dodgeball in PE, this is a great opportunity. Students are not required to attend as this is an optional before school activity.

Calling all runners, walkers, and joggers!
Calling all runners, walkers, and joggers! Hoosier Road will be putting together its 11th annual Geist 5K team to participate in the 5K race on May 19, 2018 which starts at 7AM. Come out for an informational meeting to learn about joining our team and racing to the finish line. All HRE families (no matter the grade level) are invited to register with our school. We would love to keep our title as most participants in the school program category! So come and see what all the fun is about!
To offset our costs (water, healthy snacks, shirts) we are looking for some sponsors. Your company name will be featured on our newly designed shirts. $50 and $100 partnerships are welcome. Meetings follow a discussion format. Walk away with strategies for addressing intensities, perfectionism, sibling issues, and underachievement.

Be Prepared for School Closings and Weather Delays This Winter
The doors to the school will be locked so please do not drop off your children and drive away!! Students will be admitted into the building at 10:45 AM. School will begin at 10:55 AM. No lunch visitors will be allowed on delay days due to an altered schedule.
In cases of extreme weather conditions, the Superintendent of HSE Schools will call a weather day and close all HSE schools. Again, parents will be notified via Skylert and closings will be announced on social media and by local TV stations.
Remember that HSE bus service will run on all school days. We encourage you to have your child ride the provided bus transportation to school so as not to be late -- tardiness due to weather is not excused. If your child attends the Y before/after care, the Y will be open as usual on delay days but will be closed on cancellation days.
Outdoor Recess Happens Year-Round! Remember - please dress your child for the weather
Volunteers & Lunch Visitors Reminder
Per HSE Policy, visitors must have their SafeVisitor Badge scanned to check-in to the building. Please download the SafeVisitor App (it is available in Google Play or via the app store on the iPhone) or have your badge available when you come into the school. Looking up names can lead to the wrong person being signed in.
Upon leaving, please give your printed badge to the office staff for quick check-out.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Vicki Foutty at 317-594-4100.
