Coach/LEG Quick Three
Plus 1 March 2018
End of School Year Reminders
- Course end dates: Please check course end dates to ensure you have left sufficient time for teacher grading and receipt of final grade reports (last day of school, graduation, college transcripts, NCAA eligibility, etc.) We highly recommend a best practice of an end date TWO weeks prior to absolute "need" date. Remember...you have access to the student's grade book in Genius. Once all work has been submitted and graded you can see the final grade for the course. NOTE: If additional time is needed beyond the five months allowed in a course, this must be requested through the WVS office at wvshelpdesk@cesa9.org or 715-453-1953.
- Student access to courses ENDS at 10:00 p.m. CST on the last day of their enrollment period.
- Passwords: Most unit and final exams are password protected. Please contact the online instructor a day or two ahead to ensure you receive the password in time. You can also check past communications in Genuis to see if that password was emailed to you. Click here for instructions on how to view communications in Genuis.
- Alumni Clean-up: If you provide the WVS office with your list of graduates, we will update their status so they will no longer appear on your student list.
- The enrollment period for WVS is open until June 30th, 2018, with a start date of June 30th or earlier. Please remember this date for summer school options. See below for more information regarding summer school.
- WVS enrollments will begin on August 20th, 2018 for the 2018-19 school year.
AP Exam Information
The 2018 AP Exams will be administered over two weeks in May:
- May 7 through 11
- May 14 through 18
AP Coordinators are responsible for notifying students when and where to report for the exams. **School districts (NOT WVS) are responsible for ordering AP exams from the College Board.**
Click here to access the AP College Board website for more information.
Looking ahead to Summer...
It is very important that a Local Education Guide (LEG) or mentor be available to act as a liaison between the student and the WVS teacher during the summer. It is also strongly recommended that students enroll in no more than ONE semester course during the summer.
Summer is also a great time to explore using your own qualified teachers and leaning on WVS for the infrastructure, digital content, and professional learning to make that happen.
