What's Cooking?

For complete breakfast and lunch menus, please click here.

When packing your child's lunch, please remember to avoid packing candy, soda, and glass containers. We also ask that students not bring fast food in the cafeteria.

If you would like to monitor what your child is buying you CAN put restrictions on their account. Please call or email with those requests to stempleton@hse.k12.in.us.

iPad and Books Fees Have Been Posted to Skyward

Your child's book and IPad rental fees have been posted. Fees may be paid anytime via EFunds or by sending in a check made out to Hoosier Road Elementary. Be sure to put checks in a sealed envelope and include your student’s name, teacher’s name, and student ID (lunch number). Unfortunately, if you are paying with cash, we cannot make change nor can we process credit or debit cards in the office. All book fees need to be paid in full no later than October 3rd, unless payment arrangements have been prearranged with the school treasurer (Jennifer Eichenauer: jeichenauer@hse.k12.in.us).

Bus Update

Please remember that students may not ride a bus home with a friend. Students may only ride on a bus if they are assigned to it in skyward.

Calling all 4th Graders

Are you in 4th grade and enjoy learning & spelling new words? If so, please join Mrs. Washburn on Wednesday, September 14th for the first Spell Bowl meeting. Spell Bowl will always meet in Mrs. Washburn's room (room 6) at 2:15PM. Your child will be given a calendar of the practice dates at the call out meeting (there will be 8-10 meetings from 2:15-3:15PM; we know this conflicts with Choir so please reach out to Mrs. Washburn if your child is wanting to participate in both after school activities).

Mrs. Washburn will meet parents at the front entrance (Door 1) to dismiss students on Spell Bowl afternoons. Please be sure to update your child's School Dismissal Manager if they are allowed to stay after for practice!

Students may access the link below to begin their Spell Bowl journey!

Turnover Hunger Food Drive

Big picture
The Hamilton Southeastern School district is having a food drive September 6th - 9th.

Through Turnover Hunger, we are asking all 22 HSE schools to help fill the shelves of Fishers Youth Assistance Program and local food pantries with targeted food donations by students and staff. Between September 6-9, we are asking the following breakfast, snack, and dinner items to be brought in by building type:

  • Grades PreK-4: boxed oatmeal or fruit snacks
  • Grades 5-8: granola bars, peanut butter crackers or cheese crackers
  • Grades 9-12: ramen noodles or mac and cheese cups

Every food donation is much appreciated, but we understand some would prefer to make monetary donations. For those interested in donating directly to the fund, they can visit: www.hsefoundation.org/foodforthought.

We Need You! HRE's Cafeteria is Hiring!
