Weekly Fisher Family Update 1/25-1/29/2021
Evening Carline & After School Events
We need your help with our evening carline procedures. With our return to 5 days and all kids, we have multiple events going on after school. Extended Day Program, Tutoring, Clubs, Sports, and more are now going on so we have lots of parents arriving to pick their Firebirds up. If you are picking your child up for an after school event, please pull all the way around the circle drive to the front carline post to allow more people an opportunity to park and allow our kids to safely access their cars when they exit the building. We appreciate your assistance with this detail.

VEX Robotics Teams Ranked 5th and 9th
Following this past weekend's competition PJFMS VEX Robotics Boys and Girls teams are ranked 5th and 9th respectively. As their season gathers momentum Coach Beyerle says that the teams will hit their stride just at the right time and expects them to climb in the rankings pretty easily as the teams are laser focused and showing great determination and teamwork as they ready for future events. Good luck to both squads in your upcoming competitions!
GATE Program
GATE program is a three-year district-based, job-embedded, alternative certification program and is the first of its kind in South Carolina. Greenville County Schools is currently seeking candidates who are interested in teaching math, science, social studies, English, French, or Spanish to middle or high school students. To be considered for the GATE program, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or higher with a major or emphasis in the teaching area of interest. Applications are being accepted NOW! Register to attend an information session or visit the GATE website to learn more about the GATE program.
Redo/Retake & Late Work Procedures
Now that we have a made a full return to a 5-day per week schedule with all three grade levels of students, the Redo/Retake and Late Work procedures will begin to apply to students' work beginning Tuesday, January 19th. Students and parents alike are encouraged to review these procedures when it comes to student work and be familiar with our expectations. Additionally, perhaps one of the easiest yet most effective ways to ensure your child is up-to-date on their work is to be a regular checker of Back Pack. Finally, if there is work outstanding have your child begin communicating with her/his teacher right away so everyone is on the same page with the plan to get back on track with late work or work needing improvement. Please check the links provided below to read up on our procedures at PJFMS.
