Principal's Message
Dear Students and Families,
I hope everyone is doing well! We are now in a place through virtual learning where teachers are starting to capture grades. Below are some power school reminders for logins. These directions are also in your child's CRHS black and red draw string bag that they were given at device pickup. If all else fails, just email your child's counselor and they can help students log in to powerschool. It is very helpful to have the PS app on your phone to check grades frequently! We encourage students and families with this capability to download the app on their phone!
Wednesday work counts! Students have assignments for each class to complete on Wednesdays. It doesn't matter what time they work on them, but assignments for Wednesdays must be completed for students to count in attendance and for grading purposes. Teachers are available for help Wednesday afternoons through zoom or email.
If your child is struggling with any content the first question you should ask them is: Have you zoomed with your teacher or emailed your teacher? Some high school students are still reluctant to participate in zoom conversations or ask for help. They can do this privately through a private chat or email to the teacher. Teachers are available everyday during office hours/flex time from 1:30-2:30 to zoom one on one with students that need extra support! Encourage your child to reach out if they are confused or need extra help! Students can also make a private comment on an assignment. This is a quick way for teachers to know exactly what they need help with! The private comment will send an alert to the teacher.
Thank you for your continued support! Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns!
Dr. Nikki VonDenBosch
CRHS Principal
Tech Tips for Students
1) Shutting down computer at the end of day and restarting daily clears a lot of things up.
2) Always use your CCPS account to access school materials.
3) Turning in work on Google Classroom is not just typing in answers. You have to hit the turn in button.
PARENT Power School Login Information
Caroline County Public Schools provides access to student information for parents through PowerSchool Parent Single Sign On. Students' attendance, grades, and schedules can be viewed through Power School. Follow these directions if you have not set up your Parent PowerSchool account yet.
The first time you go to the sign in screen, http://carolinecps.powerschool.com, you will need to click on the button "Create Account" and fill in the information about yourself as a PARENT.
After you successfully create your account you will add your students to your list by entering your child's:
Name
Access ID
Access Password
Relationship
(If your child does not know their Access ID and Password please email their counselor and she will give you this information.)
District Code: HJQD
You may enter information for up to 7 students when creating your account. Once you have your account created, you will use the User Name and Password you created for yourself to log in and view information for all students you have added to your account.
You can also download the Power School App on your phone!
STUDENT Power School Login Information
Your account has confidential information about you which others cannot access unless you share your login name and password, therefore, do not share your login information. Your parents can also have their own login name and password to see your information.
The district code for the Mobile App is: HJQD.
If you need your Login Name and Login Password please email your counselor or support at powerschool@ccpsstaff.org
Senior Portrait Make Up Days-Update from Mrs. France
Hello Seniors and Families,
If you/your child already had their senior portraits taken in July, please disregard this message.
If you/your child DID NOT have their senior portrait taken in July, the photographer will be at CRHS on October 7 and 14 to take senior photos. These are Wednesdays so you/your child will not have to miss any classes to get this done.
Information about appointments will be shared via email and social media when we receive it. Remember, there is no uniform dress this year due to COVID-19. Boys should wear a dress shirt and tie (color of their choosing); suit jacket optional. Girls should wear a dress or dressy top. Be sure to include jewelry if desired. BE SURE WHATEVER YOU WEAR IS SCHOOL APPROPRIATE - THIS IS FOR BOYS AND GIRLS BOTH!! IF YOU ARE UNSURE, TAKE A SELFIE AND SEND IT TO MRS. VONDENBOSCH, MR. SOUSA OR ME AND WE CAN DISCUSS.
Please contact me with any questions.
Thanks!
Mrs. France
Class of 2023 Fundraiser
The Class of 2023 is having an online fundraiser. If you go to the Charleston Wrap Store Website you can click Shop Now and support the Sophomore Class.
Students must register in order to raise money for the fundraiser. See Mr. Williams' email about how to register.
Curbside Checkout Information
Colonel students still have access to their school library. It's simple! Go to: CR Curbside Checkout to request books. Books can be delivered if the student is receiving meals through CCPS (free for all!) or can be picked up at the Colonel Campus. Give your eyes a "screen break" and READ! Contact Mrs. Gillespie, gillespie.melissa@ccpsstaff.org, if you have any questions.
