Illinois' 10-day sales tax holiday begins Friday, August 5, cutting the state's sales tax rate by five percentage points on certain school supplies and some clothing.
That means for every $100 you spend, you'll pay $5 less in sales tax through Aug. 14.
You can view the school supply list on the District website at: www.wego33.org on the Registration webpage.

The Board of Education would like to recognize individuals of the district 33 community - which includes all staff members, students, bus drivers, parents/guardians, and guardians - for actions that build a positive culture and climate in District 33.
This "shout-out" will take place at Board meetings as an agenda item called "Board Salute" and become part of the official minutes.

Board Salutes - August 4, 2022
This Board Salute goes out to Dr. Will Dwyer, Principal; WCCHS D94 Administration and custodial team;
“As the District 33 administrative team was planning for summer school opportunities for our students in late spring, we became concerned with the challenges of providing the appropriate learning environment for our students, given the construction work occurring in all of the D33 schools over the summer. Without hesitation, Dr. Will Dwyer offered classroom and office spaces at West Chicago High School. This collaboration provided D33 students with a positive learning environment while also experiencing the life of a “high school student.” As we completed our summer school program on July 29, we would like to thank the D94 administration and their custodial staff for warmly welcoming our students and staff. We greatly appreciate their hospitality and look forward to continuing this partnership!”
~ Dr. Gloria Trejo, Assistant Supt for Teaching and Learning

“Big Al always goes above and beyond for Wegner School. Most recently he donated a tent/canopy to Wegner for us to use at our outdoor events like field days and high-interest day.”
~ Paul Shankle, Wegner School, Custodian
New Community School Administrator
We are excited to welcome Ms. Tiffany Posey, the new Community School Administrator for District 33. Ms. Posy most recently served as the Family Engagement Coordinator for Chicago Public Schools working with the Office of Early Childhood. In this role, she supported just over 30 schools and their pre-K programs in her network, with their Community & family engagement efforts for Early Childhood families.
New Leman Middle School AP
We are excited to share that the Board has approved Mr. Matthew Mordini of Education as the new assistant Principal at Leman Middle School. Mr. Mordini will replace the vacancy left by Ms. Amie Correa, who is now principal at Gary School.
Over the past year, he has had the pleasure of serving as the 7th grade Dean of Students at Leman Middle School, which allowed him to build strong connections with the Leman students, teachers, & West Chicago community. He is passionate about utilizing the power of positive relationships & restorative practices to foster productive, safe, & positive environments for teaching and learning.
