- He can also sign and pass the bills that his party agrees with.
- Even his other party members can help him out by proposing legislation that helps him and his party.
Commander in Chief
- A benefit of having a civilian in charge of the army is having the will of every civilian influencing the army.
- A drawback is that a civilian isn’t trained to handle military situations and don’t always have many strategies that come from military training.
Chief Executive
Article I section II gives the president executive power. One of the recent executive orders that effected us was the enhancement of public safety in the interior of the US.
Chief of state
During tough times like war time, the President can be Commander in Chief of the army and navy. When hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, Donald Trump visited to show his support.
Chief Diplomat
In the past we’ve had many allies such as Canada, Australia , UK, France, Italy , Ireland, Norway. Most of them remain strong but only a few have been questionable these past couple of years.
Recently, the White House has hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, German Chancellor, and Angela Merkel. They came to discuss treaties of friendly ties between them and us.
Chief Legislator
The President has recently pushed for the Weather Research and forecasting innovation Act of 2017 and has tried to push his plan for healthcare by focusing on getting rid of Obamacare and then focusing on abortions.
How the President could help reduce or get rid of the great pacific garbage patch
There are many ways that can help stop the garbage patch from growing. Recycling efforts, volunteers picking up trash in costal regions and even inland, and companies using biodegradable materials are just a few. To reduce the size of the garbage patch, many have debated if it would be possible to break up and bring to land to be out in landfills so that sea creatures wouldn’t have to deal with it.
In order to fix this he’ll need to be a good speaker to help get people on board. It would be best if the President would actively seek many different approaches to getting rid of the island of trash.
