Happy Holidays, Sloan Creek!
I cannot believe we have completed half of the year. We have so much to celebrate and even more to look forward to.
Since August, your students have adjusted to new scheduling, rocked their grades , enjoyed Leopard Time while balancing responsibilities, earned rewards from the Leopard Store, performed with band, choir, or orchestra, created art masterpieces, and shown that they can balance being great students with fun, too.
I cannot wait to see what the Spring brings and all of the memories they will add to their year.
Please note that there will not be a 5th or 6th grade link for parents in this issue as we are on break. These will begin again on January 5, 2023!
Enjoy your time off and I hope you have an amazing break.

December Safety Tips
1. Sharing the Road with School Buses. In all 50 states, it’s illegal to pass a school bus that has its stop arm out and red flashing lights on. Everyone plays a role in ensuring students get to school safety, so please use caution, and maintain a safe following distance.
2. Bundle Up. When bundling up your child in the morning, make sure your student still has an adequate line of sight and can hear traffic and other noises. Make sure your student can put his arms down.
3. Put Down the Phone. When on snow- or ice-covered surfaces, watch where you are walking, and driving as they might be ice that you can’t see.
4. Just a Little Patience. School bus drivers are very well trained on driving in inclement weather; however, snow and icy roads can slow down even the most experienced driver.
5. Pay Attention to Weather Alerts and School Messages. As hectic as mornings can be, parents should be aware of weather alerts and school cancellations or delays. Bad weather also can lead to early dismissals or a change in bus routes. Make sure to check your school website or local media when inclement weather is expected.
