SCHOOL NEWS
As we enter into the second half of the year and into the busy winter season, we just want to remind families about the importance of regular school attendance. If your child is not experiencing symptoms (see here) that the nurse deems necessary for students to remain home, we want to see students here. In addition to promoting academic success, regular school attendance also supports students’ social and academic well being. As families have emergencies pop up or have to leave for extended periods of time for non-medical reasons (i.e. what we would term vacations) please keep in mind that teachers will allow students to make up missed assignments, tests, and quizzes. However, as stated in our handbook (pg 8), “they are not required to prepare work in advance for a vacation related absence.” Please remind your child to log onto their team’s homework blog site for the most up to date classroom information.
