From the Principal
Thank you to the students, parents and staff of RPIMS for making the first full week of school a success. I would like to compliment our students for their diligence in observing safe practices in their return. Staff, too, deserve commending for their planning and flexibility for teaching both in-person and virtual learners within a school structure that is different than anything we have experienced in education. Finally, parents and caregivers have my gratitude for their patience as RPIMS continues to try to navigate the complexities of everyday instruction for 5th grade with a separate virtual program, alternating days of instruction for 6th grade with a separate virtual program, and alternating days of instruction with 7th and 8th grade with virtual students scheduled synchronously within the school day!
Don't confuse the principal's declaration of a successful first full week as an indication that all is going well - it's not, YET! Technology continues to confound as the student learning platform (Canvas), digital curriculum programs and the new student information system (Synergy) have had difficulty "talking" to each other. As of the time of this newsletter, I can report that progress is being made on all fronts. Speaking of technology, please remind your student that Chromebooks should be charged and brought to school daily. Those without Chromebooks will be getting a device assigned in the days ahead.
Synergy has a ParentVUE portal that parents can use to monitor students grades, attendance and discipline. Parents can view their students "Warren Password" on the ParentVUE Student Info tab. Parents can click on Student Info and then scroll to the bottom of the page. They will see their students' passwords right below the bus information.

Going to school during a pandemic is new to everyone. MSD Warren's S.A.F.E Reopening Plan provides a comprehensive framework within which students and staff can be safe. The Ranger staff will continue to emphasize social distancing, hand washing/sanitizing, and face coverings with students. Parents are reminded that students exhibiting symptoms should be kept at home, and that the school response to positive cases will be consistent with Warren's Plan. Please don't hesitate to reach out to teachers, counselors, administrators with questions or concerns - We are in this together!
