Principal Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Summer can be the best time of the year to spend quality time with family and friends. However, we've missed hearing and seeing our students! Excitement is building up at Beaver Ridge Elementary as we prepare to welcome them back our students. We are also ready to meet and cheer on our youngest Pre-K and Kindergartners.
Our staff and I are currently attending workshops and planning for a successful 2022-2023 school year. Nonetheless, the health and safety of our students is just as important as their academic success. Please know that our outstanding custodial staff are making sure the building is clean, sanitized, and ready for back-to-school. As expected of all Gwinnett County Public Schools, we will continue to use a layered mitigation strategy (promoting vaccination for those who are eligible, continuing use of enhanced ventilation practices, promoting proper respiratory etiquette and encouraging regular handwashing, emphasizing the need for individuals to stay home if they are sick, continuing our Health Response Teams process, and continuing with cleaning and disinfecting practices in schools and on buses). These practices will help to promote healthy and safe practices for our students, families, staff, and visitors.
This year, Meet Your Teacher Day will be in-person on July 28 starting at 8:00 am and ending at 11:30 am. We will be placing homeroom lists on our school courtyard windows on July 27 in the afternoon. The information will also be available on the Parent Portal. When you arrive for Meet Your Teacher Day, you will be able to go straight to your child’s homeroom.
On Meet Your Teacher Day, I want to invite parents, guardians, and family members to partner with our school via the PTA or the Local School Council. Don't forget to visit the PTA table and join. Working in partnership, we will make 2022-2023 an amazing school year!
I am honored to be your principal and am excited about this upcoming school year.
See you at Meet Your Teacher Day!
Martina Luna-Liranzo

Immunizations / Health Certificates
By state law, a valid certificate of immunization (Form #3231) or a notarized statement of religious exemption (Form #2208) is required for enrollment. The certificate of immunization must be completed by the health department or your private physician. A valid Form #3231 must be marked with either "Date of Expiration" or as "Complete for School Attendance." (A certificate marked with a "Date of Expiration" expires on the date indicated. A current certificate must be submitted within 30 days of expiration.)
Students can get vaccinations and certificates of immunization from their private physician or at any of the local health department offices.
Additionally, students also must have evidence of vision, hearing, and dental, and nutrition screening obtained in the past year. This information should be on Georgia Form #3300 (rev. 2013), available from the health department or your physician and dentist and dated within the last 12 months.
Visit one of the health department offices in Gwinnett County-- located in Buford, Lawrenceville, and Norcross-- to obtain required screenings and immunizations for a fee.
If your child does not have health insurance or their health plan won’t cover these vaccines, call your local health department and ask about getting no-cost or low-cost vaccines. For more information, visit http://dph.georgia.gov/vaccines-children or call (800) 848-3868.
