Time of Thanks

Happy November, Trailblazer Families!

I hope that all of you are finding time to prepare for Thanksgiving with family and loved ones. As a school family we are gearing up for middle of year testing in order to see how well our students are progressing with their learning for the year. This testing is necessary in order for teachers to create a plan for the second part of our year and each student's learning needs. We have a lot of exciting things taking place over the next several weeks of school leading up to winter break. Please keep your children bundled up on their way to school as our weather is getting colder and colder. As always, please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions or concerns. Have a happy Thanksgiving!

Parents: Speak Up – Your ideas are important to us!

Be a part of the conversation! Starting immediately, we will be participating in the Speak Up National Research Project. Speak Up is the first survey designed to help parents share their ideas directly with schools and national policymakers. As key stakeholders, Speak Up provides parents with a mechanism for expressing their views to the administrators at their child(ren)’s school and district about key issues impacting their child(ren)'s education. Since 2003, Speak Up has collected and shared the views of more than 4.5 million students, teachers, and parents from all 50 states, as well as internationally. By participating in Speak Up, parents are expressing their views to a wider audience of local, state, and national policy makers as well as the business community—and contributing to the national dialog about science, technology, and preparing students for the 21st century workforce.

It's quick and easy to get involved. To take the survey visit: and click the blue “Parents Enter Here” button!

Late Start Monday and 2 hour delays

Although we begin school late on Monday mornings for staff professional development, it's a good time to remind everyone that in the event of a two hour delay on a Monday we will begin our school day at 10:00 am, just like any other two hour delay day.

PTO Meeting Schedule

Our PTO is growing! We have had around 16 members at every meeting this year. I am told that this is likely a South Side PTO involvement record! I believe that every parent wants to be a part of our school. We need strong parent support in order to provide a fantastic education for our students. One way you can help is to join our PTO. The more active members that we can have, the more we can do for our students. FREE child care is provided at our PTO meetings thanks to the ENHS Key Club!!

Our PTO will meet on the second Tuesday of every month from 4:00-5:00 pm in our school library. Due to our school cancellation on Tuesday, November 14, our November meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 28 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm in the school library.

Veterans Day Celebration. Thank you, Veterans!

Attendance Reminders

If your child is ill, or is not going to be in school because of an appointment please call the school to let us know why your child is absent. If we are not available to speak to you, please leave a message on the school voicemail.

If we do not hear from you and we are not able to reach anyone your child’s absence is classified as an unexcused absence.

Always ask for a doctor’s slip when you take your child to the doctor, dentist, or any type of appointment. According to the East Noble Attendance policy doctor’s slips are required after the 10th absence. By obtaining a slip for every illness or appointment you can avoid any attendance issues in the future when your child is simply out a day or two with a bad cold or the flu.

Please bring your child into the office to sign them in if they if miss the bus or oversleep and arrive late.

Without a parent signature all tardies are classified as unexcused.
