Important information about mid-quarter progress reports !
September 8, 2020
Dear Desert Cove Parents and Guardians,
Each year, the school district has 4 predetermined dates on the district calendar that your child will receive grades (report cards) throughout the school year. This year the dates are
October 19, January 6th, March 22, and May 19.
September 9th, 2020, is the midpoint of the first quarter and when we typically send home progress reports to alert you and your child of their progress and grades up to that point.
With this year not being a typical start to the school year, the process of “getting into the swing of things” has taken a little longer than usual. As a staff, we understood the value in taking things at a slower pace. We felt the benefits of connecting the students and building a classroom community far outweighed jumping into curriculum the first few weeks. There was also the technology “learning curve” that all teachers, parents, and students had to adjust to.
For this reason, we will not be sending home physical progress reports but instead encourage you to review your child’s Infinite Campus account and their progress up to this point. The information in Infinite Campus is the same information you would get on the progress report. Infinite Campus is a great tool to review your child’s progress throughout the year. It’s available to you 24 hours a day.
Please visit the Infinite Campus help page if you need help retrieving your “Parent Portal Password” or need directions on how to access the site.
We will send home report cards October 23, 2020. Please be diligent in reviewing with your child how they are progressing. The home school connection is one of the most important factors in student achievement.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. Your partnership through this process has been extremely beneficial and we appreciate you.
Please contact the office if you require further assistance or have questions.
