Something from Saldivar
Week of April 13, 2015
Have we trained enough?
Watch the video of Tommy Caldwell as he trains to climb Mt. Capitan:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cju_ZD6lVBw
Tommy shows us many things that parallel to our work in schools. To name a few:
He had a clearly articulated vision and mission
He followed his passion
He developed a practice or intervention plan that met his needs for improvement
He became stronger by being in a team
He utilized the support of those around him
He did not give up when it became difficult
Just like Tommy, who strives to go beyond the ordinary to extraordinary, we can move the culture of our schools from good to great with a little planning, consistency, and “sticktoitiveness.” Not only is this something we as educators model for our students daily through our craft of teaching, but it is what we long to instill in our students in order for them to meet any challenge now or in their future. #GMStrong
Thank you Mr. Morrison and the Avid Site Team for coordinating a Magnificent Avid Night!
Congratulations to our 2014-2015 Teacher of the Year Mrs. Serrano!
