DMS Delivers
September 29, 2023
Dear DMS Families,
First off, it was great to see those of you who attended our Open House last night. We are looking forward to a great year at DMS, and that starts with making sure that we are all on the same page with the expectations of class and grade level expectations. As we move forward, please be sure to reach out to classroom teachers if you have any questions or concerns regarding student progress. In addition, you can reach out to a DMS administrator, or our Office of Student Services if you think that your child would benefit from additional support throughout the school day. As I said at the start of the year, two- way communication will be the key to student success at DMS, so please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
As we move into next week, please see below for important information, including DRRHS Green and Gold Night, a middle school grading update, school pictures, student attendance reporting, and the PTO's Trunk or Treat and DMS Movie events.
Have a great week!

OPEN HOUSE AT OUR HIGH SCHOOL
Attention Grade 7 & 8 Students and Families: You are cordially invited to our annual Green & Gold Night Open House at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School on Thursday, October 19 from 6-8pm. Come see firsthand what makes the #WeAreDR experience so special. Meet our students and staff; tour our CTE shops; and learn about all of the academic and extracurricular activities! See the DRRHS Green and Gold Night Flyer for more information.
Thank You to Our Food Service Workers and Custodians!
This past Monday was National Food Service Worker Appreciation Day, and Monday is National Custodian's Day. DMS staff and students want to thank our dedicated Food Service and Custodial Staff for all they do at DMS! We could not get through each day without all of their hard work.
School Picture Day
DMS Picture Day is this Monday, October 2nd. Envelopes were sent home with students a few weeks ago for those of you who would like to order school photos.
Staff Professional Development
There is Staff Professional Development scheduled for Wednesday October 4th. Please be aware that there is NO SCHOOL for students on October 4th.
Middle School Grading Correction
After a unified handbook was created, a clerical error with the grading scales was brought to our attention. Upon further investigation, we decided to correct the mistake and reflect the appropriate scale in Aspen immediately. Please see the correct scale to the left.
Are You Interested in Serving on the DMS School Council?
We are looking for TWO parent/guardian representatives to join our School Council. The School Council is comprised of both school and non-school members, and will work to incorporate our district's new Portrait of a Graduate and soon to be developed Strategic Plan into our School Improvement Plan. School Council members meet once a month for one hour on a pre-determined date after school.
Please email Ms. Kelleher (bkelleher@drregional.org) if you would like to participate in this year-long project.
Reporting Absences
If students will be absent from school, please follow the below procedures:
Students should be called in to the main office if they will not be attending a scheduled school day. This information can be called into our attendance line at 508-669-4200. You will then record a message stating whether the student will be tardy to school, dismissed from school, or if they will be absent. You may also email an absence to jrapoza@drregional.org, as long as it is before 8:30 a.m. If we do not receive a phone call/email, families will receive a message confirming that their child has been marked absent.
For further information on student absences, please refer to the district's Student Handbook.

Student Chromebook Repairs
In the event that a chromebook is damaged, lost or not working, please submit a Technology Helpdesk Ticket. Once the technicians have confirmation of the ticket, they will provide the student with a temporary device to be used while the damage is evaluated. If the damage is seemingly accidental damage, the chromebook will be repaired at no cost to the student. If you have any questions, please reach out to the DMS Main Office.
