Team Penn

May 2nd - 6th

Teacher Appreciation Week

Since 1984, National PTA has designated the first week in May as a special time to honor the men and women who lend their passion and skills to educating our children.

This week, Penn will honor the amazing teachers and staff who have come together to make Penn an extraordinary place for children. Chai and I both thank you for your efforts, the sacrifice of your time and being skilled at your craft. Please enjoy the contributions of different partners who have come together to honor you!

Many Thanks!

End of the Year Checkout: READ CAREFULLY

This year, to prepare for "End of the Year Checkout", you are asked to gather all Penn resources such as manipulatives, games, etc. that you have stored in your closets or cabinets that other teachers can use. We are currently working on a teacher checkout system for next year, so that the resources that we do have will be available for check out to everyone. Please have your students help you load them onto a cart and take them to Ms. Sherry's room by Friday, May 6. In addition, old text books that you are no longer using will need to be gathered and delivered to the gym by Tuesday, May 17th and placed on the stage (Students usually love to help with these types of projects).

Resources that belong to you personally will need to be labeled and boxed this year in order to checkout. If you have extra office items or student supplies such as staplers, post-it notes, paper clips, etc. that you have not used, please do not leave them in the classroom. Return them to the office for next year. With extra resources, extra text books, extra supplies out of the classroom and your personal items gathered into boxes, check out will be completed when all closets, cabinets drawers and desks are clear of all items.

Word from the Wise: If you begin taking down bulletin boards too soon, students will begin to act even more that summer is already here! Save your bulletin boards for the very end with the exception of student work.

A more extensive checklist for checkout will be provided to you at a later date. The tasks above are more time consuming and you may want to complete them while students are here to help you.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
