IB grades
Please remember that summative assessments should be recorded in Powerschool traditional grades and also an IB grades. Here are the instructions for this.
By the end of the semester, our goal is to have at least four IB grades in each class (one grade per chosen Criterion).
Three Thank Yous
Thank you to Ms. Messier and Ms. Driver and Mr. Driver for facilitating an awesome leadership lock in last weekend! The kids had a blast! Thank you to all teachers for getting those progress reports out efficiently! And thank you to Ms. Harding, Mr. Clifford, and Mr. Mabry for driving the buses for the 8th grade to go visit the IB program at CHS. Anytime you get your arm twisted to drive a bus, the bus driver has to go pick up the bus at whatever location in CCS, bring it to CMS, then drive it for the actual activity, then take the bus back to pre-specified location. It's complicated and appreciated!
Concord Scoop Announcement Submission
Parent Engagement Night - February 9th - please ensure all surveys are turned in, and share ideas if needed!
Our MTSS and Empower committees are teaming up to plan a parent night during our dance on February 9th. Students of parents who attend the parent night will get free admission to the dance. Food and childcare (for younger siblings) will be provided to parents. If you have any ideas for this night or would like to help with planning, please contact Melissa Mascari, Carlyn Joseph, or Amy Brewer. Parent surveys were sent out on Friday. We are asking parents to return the surveys by December 8th. Please return completed surveys in Melissa Mascari's mailbox.
High School Program Choice Applications have begun!
Please know that some 8th grade students may ask you to fill out a teacher recommendation. These recommendations need to be returned to Ms. Duncan by December 20th, in a sealed enveloped with a signature across the seal. Also, students should only be asking teachers they had in 7th or 8th grade, NOT 6th grade. Any questions see Ms. Duncan.
ISS - Laptops
This is just a reminder that Laptops are not allowed in ISS. If you are giving a test, you can forward that information to Ms. Moore and she will have them take it on the desktop. With this being in place, it is imperative that you send or forward the student’s assignment in hard copy form. If you get busy and are unable to print the assignment off, you can forward that to Ms. Moore in email and she will ensure that the student will receive it. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Ms. Moore.
Staff Survey Results - Thank you for responding!!!
- Attendance grade level competition: 75.9% yes and 24.1% no - again, more details to come soon.
- Warning bell: 59.6% agree that we can get rid of it and 40.4% feel we should keep it. We will keep you updated on this.
- And we truly appreciate all the helpful suggestions on the other questions - thank you!
