What did Harriet Tubman do for the slaves
Harriet Tubman was one of the people who helped slaves escape through the underground railroad. She was by some people known as the Moses of her time, because like Moses she helped enslaved people escape.
Who was Harriet Tubman and why is she famous
Harriet Tubman was an African American who escaped slavery, to later become one of the top people to help escaped slaves on the underground railroad. She risked her own freedom everyday to help other slaves become free.
Harriet Tubman and her own escape from slavery
Before becoming one of the people to help slaves escape she had to escape slavery herself. Harriet was losing interest from her owners because she was often ill so she had two choices be separated from family or escape. So, she decided to escape slavery with her two brothers, they turned back so she had to go with them. Harriet Tubman ended up trying to escape again, but alone through the underground railroad.
