All about the metric system
Length
Length is the measurement or extent of something from end to end; the greater of two or the greatest of three dimensions of a body. What we use in the lab to measure length are rulers the units we use are centimeters.
Mass
Mass is a measure in the amount of matter in an object, mass is usually measured in grams or kilograms. To measure mass we use a triple beam balance the units we use with mass are kilograms and grams.
Volume of a Liquid
Volume is the quantity of three-dimensional space enclosed by some closed boundary, for example, the space that a substance (liquid)or shape occupies or contains. We use centimeters cubed for the units we use beakers for the equipment.
Volume of a Solid
Volume is the quantity of three-dimensional space enclosed by some closed boundary, for example, the space that a substance (solid) or shape occupies or contains. The units we use are centimeters cubed
