Dear Mustang Families,

As we enter the last full week of school, the staff at Manitou Springs Middle School is committed to helping all students finish the year strong. Our teachers are planning high quality teaching and learning opportunities to wrap up their classes. We also look forward to having a lot of fun celebrating the accomplishments of students. Thank you for your continued support this school year.

Device turn in dates

Students will turn in their devices on the following dates. 6th and 7th grade students will turn in their iPads and iPad chargers(cord and block). 8th grade students will only turn in their Lenovo laptops, and keep their issued laptop charger.

  • May 19th - 6th grade

  • May 20th - 7th grade

  • May 21st - 8th grade

8th Grade Promotion Ceremony

Our 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony will be held the evening of May 26th from 6:00 - 7:00 PM in the main gym of Manitou Springs High School. Here are details:

  • Each 8th grade student will be allocated two tickets that can be used to invite family or friends.

  • Two tickets will be given to each student during advisory on Tuesday, May 25th.

  • Fuel Ed families will receive tickets at the door on Wednesday.

  • Each family member or friend must have a ticket to enter the event.

  • The event will be streamed on the middle school Facebook page.

  • Students are encouraged to dress up for this formal ceremony.

8th Grade Dance

Eighth grade students are invited to attend a dance following the promotion ceremony. The dance is scheduled from 7:30 to 8:30 PM in the middle school parking lot. This is a special celebration for 8th graders only. There is no cost for students to attend.

Last Day of School Activities (May 26th, 12:30 early dismissal)

To celebrate the school year, our students will engage in fun rotations including a dance party in the parking lot, field day activities, yearbook signing, and a barbecue.

Yearbook

Yearbooks are $40.00, they can be purchased in MySchoolbucks, or at the front desk with cash, check, or credit card. We are currently planning a yearbook signing day at the end of this school year. There are only about 100 left, get yours while they last!

World Language and Culture Month Celebration

MSMS Spanish and French students have been working hard on our collaborations for World Language and Culture Month. Please enjoy these projects that will be available for all to view on the MSSD14 here.
