Star Standards
Last week, our entire school was trained on the Star Standards, our new school-wide behavior expectations. This week, our students were rewarded with "Caught Being Good" coins for showing excellent behavior in all areas of the school! The winning class, Miss Harper's second grade, received the Star Surprise Party! Mrs. Kranendonk's 1st grade class won the Golden Spoon for best cafeteria behavior! And Mrs. Fullmer's 5th/6th grade class won the Flying Penguin award for best behavior in specials! We are so proud of each and every one of our students showing amazing behavior!

Help with Fall Carnival
PLEASE READ ALL OF THE PRINCIPALS MESSAGE IN YOUR EMAIL FOR MORE INFORMATION ON OUR FALL CANIVAL!
1... 2... 3... years of Carnival fun here at our amazing Advantage Arts Academy!
We are excited to have you on board. We hope to make this the most fun and largest fundraiser event yet!
This year along with all the exciting games; we would like to incorporate a silent auction (so fun). If you or you know of a business who would love the opportunity to donate, participate or market with us please let us know as soon as possible.
Here are some effective ideas for silent auction items:
-Sporting event tickets
-Autographed items
- Concert tickets
-Gift cards (restaurants, stores, online)
- House hold items (airfryers, rumba, decor)
- Health care items ( messages, face masks, manicure or pedicures)
- Electronics (alexas, video doorbells, ipad)
- Family activities (tickets to the zoo, children's museum of art, Thanksgiving point, aquarium)
- Adult evening out (hotel stays, movie passes, Distillery tours)
- Vacation home rentals
The list goes on and on!! Contact us if you have an idea you want to bring to life!
Now you may be asking yourself, what are we raising money for? Well, the school of course, but more importantly the concentration is centered around technology in the classroom. There are audio devices available to enhance all students abilities to hear clearly and concentrate more efficiently. We also want to make a chromebook available for every student.
After School Clubs
Strings Ensemble
A few things have changed this year, be sure to read through the attachment, but the highlights are:
- If you're late to pick up your child by 5-10 minutes more than once they'll be asked to leave the club for the year
- Please make sure your child attends every club (with the exception of sickness) to get the best experience
- They can borrow books from the school again this year - please make sure they only use pencil when writing in the books (no pens or markers).
- Practice cards need to be signed by a parent for them to get music money. I don't care how many minutes they practice - only how many days of the week they practice.
The link to pay for the club this year is in the newsletter the principal sends each week, in case you didn't see it or get it, here it is again.

Drama Club
This Fall for Drama Club we are doing three short plays, one for each grade level 4th-6th. There are 15 spots available for our 4th grade play,15 spots available for our 5th grade play and 15 spots available for our 6th grade play. Everyone who signs up will have a role in the play. Once all the slots are full, we are not accepting anyone else, sorry. We will have our first meeting on September 13th and then meet every Tuesday, 3:30-4:30pm, until our performances in December (exact dates to be determined). Parents need to pick up their children right at 4:30. (Younger and non-participating siblings cannot stay.)
If you have any questions, please email Miss Thomas at ethomas@advantagearts.org.
Art Club
This fall, AAA will have 2 art clubs—one for Grades 1-3 and one for grades 4-6. Each club is limited to 21 students and will be evenly distributed amongst the grades on a first come first serve basis. Each art club will meet on alternate weeks thru December (exact dates to be determined). A schedule will be sent out once club meetings begin.
The first meeting for the Grades 4-6 Art Club will be on September 13th from 3:30-4:30.
The first meeting for the Grades 1-3 Art Club will be on September 20th from 3:30-4:30.
Students are asked to bring an 8.5 x 11 sketch book and pay a $20 materials fee the first meeting. (There is a limited amount of fee waivers available—so do not let that stop you from signing up!). We are also requiring that students miss no more than 2 meeting without a valid
excused absence. Please pick students up promptly at 4:30 and other siblings cannot stay during that hour. If you have any questions, email Ms. Parks at jparks@advantagearts.org.
Counselors Corner- Leader In Me
Starting in October, we will touch on all 7 habits to better understand each habit before continuing to learn about each individually. I am receiving great feedback as we have focused on Habit One, Be Proactive, that students are being proactive and excited for their continued progression.
Here is the link for the information slide show we had gone over during this presentation a few weeks ago.
