We hope everyone had nice couple snow days! Many scholars seemed tired today so we assume there was plenty of sledding over the past five days! This month is a busy one, we have several teacher workdays where scholars aren't in session, we have parent/teacher conferences at the end of the month and Home School Basketball League starting! Below you will find the most recent updates from Valentine's Day party info to PTA information.

Our fundraiser pizza kits are here and ready for pickup tomorrow, Tuesday, February 8th. If you sold any kits, please plan on coming to the school and getting your items anytime from 2-6:00 P.M., tomorrow.

We are still keeping all visitors out of the building unless we have appointments setup before hand. With that plan still in place, we will have no guests/visitors for the Valentine's Day parties on Monday, February 14th. If you would like to send in any treats, please make sure you send enough for each student. CPS is still asking for all items to be individually wrapped.

Mask update from the district

Dear CPS Families:


Columbia Public Schools continues to receive information and guidance from health and medical experts, including virologists studying Columbia’s wastewater as part of the Coronavirus Sewershed Surveillance Project. Since the beginning of the pandemic, wastewater data has been a reliable predictor of the arrival and peaks of COVID variants.


Current sewershed reports indicate the variant has peaked in Columbia, and we are beginning to see a decline. This is encouraging information. With the recent winter weather and district snow days, Columbia Public Schools will extent the current mask intervention strategy through Friday, February 11, to better determine the impact of the current downward trend once all scholars and employees have returned to our buildings.


The safety of our scholars and employees continues to be our number one priority and this extension of our current intervention will allow for additional time for cases to continue to decline in our community.


Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we work to balance mitigation with the importance of keeping our scholars safely learning in person.

Homeschool Communicator Basketball League is starting!

Homeschool Communicator Basketball League is starting!

Today, we have tryouts after school for HSC Basketball. We will have two teams that represent BRE this upcoming season. The league is only for 4th and 5th grade students. Our two coaches are Tyree Goolsby (HSC for BRE) and Jason Province (Media Instructional Aide for BRE).
Homeschool Communicator Basketball League is starting!

Student apparel order is in!

All apparel has been sent home with students. If you didn't receive your order, please bring the receipt to the office and we will see what we can do.

PTA Information

Our next PTA Meeting is tomorrow, Tuesday, February 8th at 6:00 in the cafeteria at BRE. We hope to see you there!


Pizza orders from our Little Caesars Fundraiser arrive tomorrow, Tuesday, February 8th. Please come to the front office to pick your order up anytime between 2:00-6:00 p.m.
