Mrs. Miller's Weekly Update
November 7th - November 13th, 2022
GHV's Got Talent!
NOT THIS TIME!
As soon as I saw the performance of our high school play Friday night, I knew I had my inspiration. Wow! It was such a spectacular performance! The set looked great and the acting was awesome!
However, the performance itself was not the best part. What moved me the most was seeing so many of our kids being a part of this event. It's not difficult to included many students in a musical. A play, however, can be a different story. Mrs. May chose a play that allowed so many of our kids to be involved. Here is what I noticed...
I noticed some of our performers were also involved in other fall activities...sports, cheer, band, and vocal music. These students were juggling multiple activities at once this fall in addition to being students focusing on their academics. This requires a huge time commitment, and I'm so impressed by that. Our kids are dedicated!
I noticed that for some kids, this was the first activity I've seen them participate in for the 2022/23 school year, and it made me so happy that they were part of something so great. And they did such an amazing job! Our kids are talented!
I noticed how amazing our set looked! With Mr. Obermann's leadership, we had kids who worked on creating the set. We also had students helping back stage or with lights and sounds. There are a lot of moving parts to a play, and our kids were instrumental in making our production go so beautifully! It was great to see so many kids involved. Our kids all have an important role to play!
This weekend was a reminder of how fortunate we are to have and to work with such amazing young people! I'm so proud of them, and I'm so grateful I get to be part of their journey!
Way to go, GHVHS!
As I mentioned earlier, many of the cast and crew were involved in other activities. This meant that musical practice often had to work around the practices and performances of other events. Mrs. May dedicated many long hours and late nights to put together this play, and her commitment is commendable!
THANK YOU, Mrs. May!
ENJOY MORE PLAY PHOTOS!
As I mentioned in last week's newsletter, I'm going to move away from showing pictures of events in my newsletter. However, I was so excited about the play, I couldn't resist sharing some pictures!
However, rather than waiting until Sunday, you can see DAILY what is going on in our schools, both in our classrooms and in our activities and events. Winter sports and activities are right around the corner!
