STEAM Lab Reminders
Please take the time to talk with your kids about the lab materials. Many of our animal pelts, shells, and bones are very delicate. Students need to be reminded about how to treat these materials with care and respect. It is a great opportunity to teach mindfulness and respect in the lab.
Family STEAM Night
FEATURE STEAM RESOURCE - Mystery Science!!
If you are interested in learning more about the program, Dawn, our EdTech will be hosting a training here at Mundy on October 11th from 3:15 - 5:15. It will be available for buy-back.
NGSS Standards Update
PLEASE look over your new NGSS standards to make sure that you aren't teaching standards for another grade level. This way, we can build on student knowledge and keep their learning new and fresh.
For example, in the past 2nd grade was required to teach "Life Cycles," but with the new standards we teach JUST plant life cycles in regards to pollination and seed dispersal. A more comprehensive understanding of animal life cycles is now taught in 3rd grade.
One great way to create continuity between the grade levels is the new NGSS Cross Cutting concepts. Consider using Cross Cutting Concepts in your classroom so that students see connections across the curriculum as well as from grade level to grade level.
Thank You!
