Silver Gate Elementary

May 1, 2023

Have a great week...

We had a fabulous week last week at Silver Gate! Thank you Mrs. H. and students for celebrating Earth Day and Poem in your Pocket at our Monday Assembly. I appreciate all you do for our students. We are racing to the end of the year, so please scan the bulletin slowly as you do not want to miss any information or events.

STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK!

Big picture

Last week’s Scholastic Book Fair was definitely “Out of this World”!

The students had a wonderful time shopping for books, exploring the different genres, and discovering new titles to read.

Silver Gate receives 50% of the profits generated from the sales which means that we can continue to purchase the monthly Scholastic magazines for each student. The Scholastic magazines are a fantastic resource for every grade level that also includes an online component.

In addition, the Scholastic dollars we earned from this fair will be used to purchase new books for the library, classroom and library rugs, library furniture, bookmarks, pencils and library rewards. This is a great way to support our school’s literacy initiatives and provide our students with more opportunities to learn and grow through reading.

We want to express our gratitude to Astronaut/Librarian Mrs. H, Tracy Rebelo and all our wonderful volunteers who helped make the book fair a success. Without their hard work and dedication, we would not have been able to achieve such a positive outcome.

If there is any money left if your child’s e-wallet, you can use that balance to purchase books through the Scholastic website through April 30 or it can be rolled over to the next book fair, which will be in December.

Thank you again for your support!

LEADER IN ME!

Please support our implementation of Leader in Me by taking the survey. It is one of the requirements for having the program and it gives us your feedback. The survey will take less than 15 minutes of your time. I really appreciate your support in this.
