A Note From the Principal

Dear Families,

First, just a reminder that this year all students will decorate a large white bag to collect their valentines in at school during our Valentine's Day parties on February 14th. The bags will be designed during art class for grades K-4 and in the regular classroom for Pre-K.

We have finished our benchmark testing for winter, and we are seeing some amazing growth in both literacy and math! I am so proud of how hard both the students and teachers have worked so far this year. Thank you families as well for all of your support at home! This growth would not be possible without you.

Thank you,

Mrs. Keever

PTO Needs Your Help!

Our next PTO Meeting is Thursday February 2nd at 6:00 p.m in the teacher's lounge at Mable Woolsey. We are in need of more parents to help volunteer and plan events! We cannot have fun events throughout the year with your support. The next meeting will have a Zoom link so that you can join from home! We need input, ideas, help, or you can just listen in to the meeting. The Zoom link is below.

A Reminder about Pre-arranged and Extended Absences

Parents must notify the school and classroom teacher one week prior to taking a child out of school for a trip. This includes vacations, extended weekend trips, and family visits.

No advance work will be assigned prior to prearranged absences. The nature of our curriculum necessitates teacher assistance in making up work following a child’s return to school. The teacher, student, and parent will work together to ensure the student has met academic expectations within the classroom. Homework will be given to the student upon return. Students will have the number of days missed plus one additional day to complete the work.

Mable Woolsey Way Tickets

Everyday students earn tickets for being safe, respectful and responsible at Mable Woolsey. On Fridays names are drawn by grade level for a prize! These students were rewarded for being safe, respectful, and responsible this week at Mable Woolsey.

4th Grade Visit from Don Moffit

Former representative Don Moffitt visited Mrs. Nelson's classroom to tell the students all about his experience working in government. They are learning about civics, and he really helped all of it come to life! We are so grateful for his time and knowledge. Thank you Mr. Moffitt!
