Thesis Statement
Throughout the novel Walk Two Moons, Sharon Creech uses judgements to show that you can't judge in till you have walked two moons in their moccasins.
judgement 1: Mike Bickle is a lunatic
One of the judgements that is made throughout the novel is about Mike Bickle. The frist time Sal and Pheobe see Mike Bickle they suspect he is a lunatic. "she closed the door. 'sal do you detect any signs of lunacy?" (creech 43). The truth was Mike was looking for mrs.Winterbottom because, Mike is her son. "Mrs.Winterbottom said, 'Mike is my son." (creech 248). Sal and Pheobe should of got to know before the judged him. They could of saved their time trying to avoid him. They also could of help him find Mrs.Winterbottom and they could of avoided her mom ever leaving them. The use of this judgement shows us that you can gain more information on getting to know people before you judge them.
Judgement 2: Mrs. Cadaver kiled her husband
Another judgement that is made throughout this novel is about Mrs. Cadaver. Pheobe and Sal think that Mrs.Cadaver is spooky and scary looking so, they accuse her of killing Mr.Cadaver. "she killed Mr.Cadaver and chopped him up and buried him in the backyard." (creech 32). The actual truth was Mr.Cadaver was killed in a car crash."Her husband died when a drunk driver rammed into his car." (creech 218). This judgement was made because the girls jumped to conclusions before they got to know them. They would of enable to spare Mr. Birkway's feelings. Creech uses this judgments throuhtout the novel so when the reader reads the truth they will be in shock.
