Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Ask your child what they remembered about Dr. King. Many children were very impressed with this man and what he stood for. We made dream clouds to help us remember that he wanted us to be kind, to include everyone, and to use our words when we are upset.
Snowflake Bentley
After reading Snowflake Bentley with Mrs. Sayre, we hopped on the chromes and made snowflakes of our own on this amazing website:

Mr. Bentley spent his entire life trying to find ways to photograph snowflakes. With his dedication, he showed us that no two snowflakes are alike.
3-d shapes
To introduce 3d solid shapes, we took turns with our elbow partner discussing the attributes of each solid. We started noticing, flat surfaces, if they rolled. and how many edges and vertices (corners) they had.
Testing 1, 2, 3 ....
It is close to the end of the second quarter already, and we are taking the Star test to show how much we have grown as readers. There is still time for your child to make their AR goal. The quarter ends next Friday.
Buddies
Our buddies helped us make a poster to remember the message of Dr. King.
Dr. King
I demonstrated to the children that, just like these eggs, that are different on the outside...
...we are all the same on the inside! Yes, some of the little one wanted to eat the raw eggs....
