Character, Competency and Citizenship Recognition
Many parents joined their students at San Jacinto Leadership Academy on Thursday, October 12, for the first quarter “Pin and IB Patch Ceremony.” SJLA strives to build tomorrow’s leaders today and to recognize a Cadet’s leadership progress has a series of pins/patches that can be earned each quarter.
A detailed rubric outlines the Character, Competency and Citizenship requirements for eight different pins for middle school students and ten potential IB patches for high school students. Congratulations to each student! Keep up the excellent work!

KAMEIKA STORY (NSA I, Park Hill Elementary) I just wanted to take a minute to tell how much I appreciate Ms. Kameika! She is always so friendly and kind to myself and our students! Kinderland LOVES Ms. Kameika!
KRISTIE BOTT (Educational Therapist) Kristie works endlessly to support students with social, emotional and behavioral concerns. She is a great advocate for students and a great support to staff, as she is incredibly knowledgeable and goes out of her way to help, putting others first.
SILVIA GODOY-PEREZ (English Language Resource Teacher) Silvia shares her knowledge and passion for Multilingual Learners with as many of her colleagues as possible. Even when her schedule is booked, she finds time to help if asked. She is the San Jacinto difference!
MAYRA ALDANA (Teacher, San Jacinto High) Mayra gives so much of herself to SJHS. She is an engaging and caring teacher, has established the Link Crew program, and is involved in PBIS and soccer. Her generosity extends to staff - she consistently supports her academic teams with materials, advice, and troubleshooting. She is always excited to create/attend events and defines school spirit. Mayra is a special part of SJHS.
LUDA ZHUKOV (Account Clerk II, Business Services) Luda is prompt, polite, helpful, and follows through in the business department. We appreciate her kindness.
LLOYD SHEPPARD AND MICHAEL LUNA (Principal and Assistant Principal, San Jacinto Leadership Academy) Words cannot describe the manner of Mr. Sheppard’s and Mr. Luna’s willingness to stop in their tracks to make themselves available for us. I am confident that the entire staff at SJLA would agree that our admin team deserves a "5-Star" rating.
SHARYN GUMINIAK (Teacher on Special Assignment) Sharyn followed through with my meeting with her. She went beyond what I needed. As a fellow teacher, I appreciate that! I appreciate all she does in her position.
VENUS RODRIGUEZ (PBIS Teacher on Special Assignment) Venus got online with my K/1 combo class students and read a book about technology do's and don'ts. Thank you Venus!
